Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 Speakers/5.1 systems

I have to say that when the Klipsch systems work they deliver excellent sound, just what you would expect from a company known for their high-end audio speaker systems from decades past. With that said, sadly they really missed the mark with their all-in-one computer and gaming rigs. The design for the control interface is awful, with multi-pin jacks of such low quality that there are guys on eBay solely devoted to repairing and reselling the control pods and plugs from these units. The subs, which not only have the amp for the low end, but the amps for the satellites, overheat and fail regularly. Again, with a frequency that merits online instructions on how to install additional cooling fans to try and prevent the problem. I was hoping to put together a 5.1 computer system using my favorite brand of speaker, JBL, utilizing a Klipsch sub and just substituting the small JBLs as satellites, but I have yet to find a working unit to use. I'm still unsure of how I'm going to proceed, since I have a non-working Klipsch sub and 5 JBL satellites and no way to use them together. I might just get a cheap HT receiver and feed that with an external sound card and be done with it. Again, great sound when they work, but I can't recommend the Klipsch systems until they address the problems. Where's the company R & D department when this stuff happens?
