Kissing Jessica Stein

This is one of those feel good 'pull out and watch' films for a rainy day. An off-beat romantic comedy that attempts to take an honest look at bi-sexuality, homosexuality, and even heterosexuality in both in male and female relationships (the emphasis being of course mostly female). I enjoyed both the film itself and the lead actors' (who also produced the film, I believe) commentary. I have enjoyed the film more with each watching. It wears well. The mother--daughter scene near the end, where the daughter 'reveals' her homosexual relationship to her mother, is top notch, well-conveyed and never fails to make me cry for all mothers and their daughters and their travails. The film also makes a positive statement that unexpected changes in relationships can always occur and can be a positive experience for both people involved. When I need a lift, this is the film I watch. t.
