Kiss and Make-Up by Gene Simmons (2002, Paperback, Reprint)

Good Book! I dont beleave he gives Ace near enough credit for the sound and the logo aswell as paul's make up all ACE's creations.

I enjoy his style, and how he presents his ideas on how to profit in our society. And being so driven to make all the $$ he can, he still shows a decent side to the man...which even if it is from him, I believe. Interesting to see the side of the music business us "normal" folks don't get to see. A decent read.

Of course being a huge Kiss fan since childhood, I had to read this. I didn't enjoy it as much as his other book Sex Money Kiss. The bulk of it is Gene bragging about scoring with the girls. The other half is complaining about Ace & Peter. Which is funny because he refers to Peter as a complainer. The one thing I did enjoy was his views on the changes over the years. For example in the non-makeup era he wasn't as involved in the band. He mentions how Paul was more suitable for that era of music. That's something I really didn't think about until reading this. Some of the changes over the years make more sense to me now.

THIS AUTOBIOGRHY THAT GENE SIMMONS ON HIMSELF, IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I EVER READ ON KISS. THIS BOOK IS A MUST HAVE FOR EVERY DIE HARD KISS!!!!!!!!!!!

I bought this book because I am a huge KISS fan. I wanted to learn more about the bands begining and the life of Gene Simmons (before KISS). The book is very insightful. I learned a lot about both Gene and the band as a whole. This a definate must have for any KISS fan.

This book is an easily readable inside look into the man and rock god, Gene Simmons and his humble beginnings, and the start of KISS. This was a very interesting read and I was intrigued by what made Gene tick. He was open and frank in this book, and I highly recommend it to any interested in what KISS is about, and one of the main guys who made it happen, and how it has changed his life and the way he looks at things. Love him or hate him, this is still a good book. Well thought out and logical sequence of events.
