  Nice regrooving of Kiss tracks!

"Deuce" - Stevie Wonder/Lenny Kravitz is the highlight of the CD. "Hard Luck Woman" - Garth Brooks is a nice remake of the original but doesn't stray too far from the path. "She" - Anthrax is suitably heavy. "Christine Sixteen" - Gin Blossoms provides a 90s altpoprock take on the tune. "Rock And Roll All Nite" - Toad The Wet Sprocket is unique as an altcountry- style track."Calling Dr. Love" - Shandi's Addiction is a track I could live without, as is "Black Diamond". It is a shame they couldn't have just used the Replacement's version of the tune. "Detroit Rock City" - The Mighty Mighty Bosstones done with a full ska horn section and the booming vocals of the Bosstones is another highlight. If you are a Kiss fan, this CD is worth the listen.

I bought this cd for my brother who has been a Kiss fan since day one. He called me the other day and told me that he really liked it. I listened to it and I liked most of it. The only song that I really didn't like the way they redid it was Black Diamond. That is such a great song, I don't think anybody should redo it.

KISS My Ass (Tribute to KISS)

I bought this cd from ebay because this cd is very rare in Indonesia, and even Singapore (the usual place for me to hunt rare cd's). The thing i love about this album is so many talent like Lenny Kravitz, Stevie Wonder, Anthrax, and Extreme pay their tribute to KISS with their style but stay true to the roots. When this cd arrived at my door, i am extremely pleased by it's condition because it was used but still in excelent shape. The sound in this album is great because in some track, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons produce it themselves. What makes this album so special is Paul and Gene dedicated this album for Ace Frehley and Peter Criss who left the band in 1980's. This is also the turning point for KISS that restart the career since a year after this album, the original line-up consist of Paul,Gene,Ace,and Peter reunite for the first time since 1980 in MTV Unplugged, and a year later they officially reunite to do a world tour concert that even bigger than the first time they've done it. Overall this album restart KISS fortune and fame and for me was really special and i never forget to bring this album everytime i travel.

Great tribute album. One of the best ever. Most of the songs are done in new and interesting ways. Not just carbon copies of the originals.

  Regrooved, Remarkable!
Review created: 08/05/09

I cannot praise this album enough. A combination of increidbly talented musicians, lyrics that everyone knows, and spins on classics makes this album worth listening to from Track 1 to Done. There is something for everyone; the KISS fan, the country music fan, the alternative fan, everyone. Many covers come across as cheesy or copy-cat, for this album, that is not the case. True some tracks are better than others, yet still all are able to stand on their own. This is the kind of album that, if by some misfortune you lose track of it and happen to stumble upon it a decade later, as I did, the tunes are still fresh, fun, and fan-f-in-tastic!

  Definately Kissed

This cd is a great homage/cover cd that is virtually unavailable anywhere. I tunes only carries two tunes off of here and they are not exactly the best cuts. Though the cd is great listening all the way through I truely enjoy the Lenny Kravitz {yes...with Stevie Wonder!!!) version of Deuce...a great version that really takes the song to an interesting and rockin place...excellent crusin tune. Hard luck woman by Garth Brooks is almost note for note the same but again is somehow different taking a fresher look at the song...very enjoyable. If your a Kiss fan at all this album really is a must have...if your not a Kiss fan get this cd...you'll love it.

  Covering KISS

I bought the album because of two songs I knew I particularly liked... "Hard Luck Woman" (Garth Brooks), and "Christine Sixteen" (Gin Blossoms). I got what I paid for and am glad I have the cd. As for the rest of the tracks, I like some and not others. A few are practically unrecognizable as KISS songs ("Rock and Roll All Nite" by Toad the Wet Sprocket and "Black Diamond by YOSHIKI,)others stayed more true to the essence of the song ("Deuce" by Lenny Kravitz, and "Detroit Rock City" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones are excellent covers). Not sure anyone did their track as well as the original by KISS, except maybe for Garth Brooks on "Hard Luck Woman." Consider buying the cd anyway. If you're open minded, it's "worth a deuce."
