Great movie for the era. Excitement with a touch of adventure. This movie is a must for a any KISS fan or rock-n-roll collector.

I remember being "BLOWN-AWAY", as a kid watching this KISS movie. Of course I didn't notice the awful acting then. I also now know about ALL the problems the band was going thru back then. I remember buying all the records, the comic books, etc. Just being mezmorized! I remember the chills I got, as an adualt seeing them all together on the reunion special. {All 6 members} I have seen KISS 7 times, and still am not tired of them. KISS Meets The Phantom Of The Park is good cheexy movie with good intensions. Yes te script could have been better, but can't expect miricles from 4- great rockers who have never acted in a full length movie before. KISS Meets The Phantom is a good, fun, cheezy, rock n' roll cult classic, which was ment for the die hard rock n' roll lover, who loves everything that KISS stands for, which is the love of the music, the fans, the life style, and the love of the live KISS shows. You also have to be a loyal comic book fan who enjoys the super hero classics, and fantasy and fiction. Don't expect KISS Meets The Phantom to stand up againts todays movies, the movie technology didn't excist yet. But if your looking at good KISS music, the chance to KISS back when they were at thier strongest, and to sit down watch something fun. Then I give KISS, and their first and only movie, KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM OF THE PARK, a 100% thumbs up fun movie.

I purchased this dvd as a gift. I was mislead by the seller. The dvd is a burned copy. The seller said that he purchased a case of 60 from a man in another country sight unseen and didn't know. What a story! Because of this product, I am not sure that I or family members will be shopping thru eBay.

Any true KISS fan will love the Cheezy Flicks release of KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM on DVD. The quality of the disk is very good. I recommend trying to find a copy of the CF release as it's far better quality than most bootleg copies out there. I've read many of the other reviews tearing apart the acting, storyline, and plot of this 1978 made for TV movie. What those people are missing is the fact that this movie was made in 1978, the height of the KISS craze within the 12 to 16 year old set. Of course it's cheesy! Of course the guys couldn't act! I don't know they were expecting, but I can tell you, I was a pretty exited 12 year old when I saw it back then. The live concert footage, the goofball lines- all classic! I think I speak for many when I say KISS MEETS THE PHANTOM is pleasant reminder of the simplicity of our childhood. These guys were Superheros to us. The lousy acting hardly made a difference. The fact that we finally got to see KISS on TV was thrill that lasted for days. Forget about what you think about the current revolving door version of KISS. What Gene and Paul decide to do with the band is their business. I wish them all the luck in the world. I'm still interested in the latest version of the band, but the classic 70's KISS is still the best in my book. Whatever you decide, this disk is a great reminder of a great time.

It was the late seventies. Kiss was near the top of their game and their faces were everywhere. This movie was an attempt to cash in on the fame and the hype. For what it is...it is a b-movie grade fantasy that missed the mark. How far it missed the mark is determined by your own standards. View it like you are watching Power Rangers or perhaps Shazam from the seventies (we all watched that -- doesn't it look campy today?) It's a live action cartoon that has it's moments. The plot is thin and basic. Mad villain tries to take over the world, super heroes stop him.

That's it. No Tolstoy. No Phantom of the Opera. No Gone With The Wind. No Brian's Song. No Star Wars. No Titanic. Just bad-guy vs good guys -- and the good guys are super hero musicians who can kick butt in many ways.

Would I recommend this to a non-Kiss fan? Absolutely! (But being a fan makes it more fun) My wife (a non-Kiss fan) came in during one of the fight scenes and said it looked cool, and she wouldn't mind seeing it start to finish. 'Nuff said.

As a fan you get some nice vintage concert footage (and I don't know about you but I never get enough of that chrome and staircase decorated Alive II stage set), a rare beautiful acoustic version of "Beth", and all the DVD clear moments to hit freeze frame for better shots of your favorite band then you could ever want.

You need to know that Peter's speaking voice was dubbed out. Read other articles and interviews to decide if he mumbles, was drunk, or whatever. You need to know you will also hear one very live, raw, off-the-mixing-board version of "I Stole Your Love" that shows why Alive and Alive II were over-dubbed to make them better than they could have ever been recorded straight live.

The packaging is simple - no booklet/no extras. Options include play and chapter search. The video is clear in a seventies way (shot orig w/cheaper lenses - not today's HD stuff).

My simple review -- if you want about an hour and a half's worth of light-hearted fun -- buy it. Expect a cartoon-like live action experience and you will have a good time.

If you are a fan of the band -- this is a genuine piece of KISSTORY -- WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? OWN IT! This was their feature made-for-TV-movie network debut on NBC way back when from the time before VCR's, DVD recorders, and TiVo. You either saw it live, caught a rerun (which I don't remember seeing it again as a rerun on NBC), owned/rented the video tape almost a decade later, or went to your favorite video store last October in vain to be told the release of this DVD didn't happen.

(I don't know why the band or their attorneys tried to squash this DVD release. If we know anything about KISS, we know we won't read about it in an expose interview or tell-all book for at least another 2 or 3 years...or more. Just a guess...the four faces on screen aren't the same four guys in the band today and money is the root of all evil. Somebody's attorney probably filed a last minute motion to recall any unsold from store shelves, figuring that none got sold at the stroke of 12:01 on the release date. Thankfully, someone/somewhere had the good sense to buy a few before the crates got shipped back. We users of eBay salute you!!!!)

For what it is, it is top knotch material. It was a made for tv movie, not a theatre release. it was released when the band was beginning to fall apart (Peter Chris stayed so trashed he could do his lines so they were all dubbed, Ace couldn t remember his lines so he had very few!). It gave all the fans an opportunity to see the band. it is a cult classic for the kiss fan. Who watches "The Rocky Horror Show for the plot or story line. It is the same for Kiss Meets the Phantom of the PArk. Itis all about the KISS experience!!!!

If anyone knew anything at all about Kiss, you would know that Kiss did not do this. They don't even own the rights to the movie anymore, hence it was not released on a wider scale. While yes, the movie is terrible, it was a made for TV movie in the late 70's, give me a break lel13, you don't have to bag on it, Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley have done enough of that on their own. They disowned this movie years ago. Grow up and learn about what you are talking about. If Kiss had done this, there would have been a great marketing campaign behind it and there would have been tons of extras. I think your are just jealous of what Mr. Simmons has accomplished in his lifetime playing fair music, putting on rediculous antics in a bat/demon type suit. He is close to retirement age and still gets to be a kid because he has been such a marketing leader. Yea, lel13 your opinion really matters in this world, ha!!!!

My gilfriends son is 10 and is a big kiss fan and I remember when I was 10 listening to them on 8 track and I haven't seen this movie since I was a kid. Cheezy Flick is right but if a fan its a must have. Fast delivery! I was shock how fast it arrived. Will be glad to do buisness again. Thanks.

This is the kind of film that you would want to see if you like rock n roll. This film is cheesy but It's good if you are a fan of KISS. I like this movie because It's different than any movie I've ever seen. I bought this because of the fact that It's a classic and I am a true KISS fan. If you like rock n roll you will like this movie.

Well the copy I received was burnt and a printed cd stamp that was printed on a printer for the cd. I would say this is a burnt copy.

As a teen in the 70's remember this movie when it was fresh on the scene and a must for those of us in "The KISS Army". Even our local Rock Station (92 WLPL) was considered the local KISS Army Headquarters. It discouraged us as fans when they removed the makeup but pleased us a well as our children when they saw fit to don the colors once again. I had this on VHS many years ago but lost intert when they dropped the makeup. I told my dauhter about the movie after I had taken her to a concert and she was emphatic about wanting to see it. It is a pure quaility DVD (I have a 52" LCD HD TV) well as pucould be for the time. It was just as I remembered it (althought I remember the acting being a bit better) She was extremely happy with the movie (oh shes 19 not just a kid, 17 for the concert). I guess the bottom line is well pleased with the purchase. As was my daughter. Me with renewed memories her with a new experience with instilled memoies to come. Thanks a lot

I got this for my son to look at. He likes KISS and can not beleive that they did a movie. Well, he fell asleep. Oh the 70's . \

I love this movie if your a diehard kiss fan like me you will enjoy this movie watched it millions of times can watch it all day This movie rocks

As a kid, granted I'm 25 at present, but I remember watching KISS meets... at least every weekend. Granted the effects are kinda cheesy and the story line was no Shindler's List. But the fact alone that KISS was the main part of the movie made it one of my top favorite movies. And I have passed it down to my younger brother, who is 17 at present, and he loves it so much. Being that he was already Kiss crazy from a young age, due to me and my older brother playing the music on the stereo and learning how to play it on guitars. We would watch it together, amongst all the other movies that we would watch. So pretty much what I'm saying is that its fun for all ages, you should see it at least once and what else do you have to do at the time. Just check it out for yourself.

I have been looking for one and it was a great price. looked every where for this dvd and the only place to find it is on ebay. You can always find what your looking for right here on ebay.

Despite the fact most of the above reviews were badly misspelled and lacked an understanding of plural and possessive tenses (and no, I'm not a teacher), I found most of them expressed my same enjoyment of this movie.

First off this review is coming from someone who's been a KISS fan since 1974 so take it for what it's worth.
Take an old Scooby-Doo script, replace Scooby-Doo/Mystery,Inc with KISS and you have your 1970's movie of the week!! Made with love and care by Hanna-Barbera Productions. Everything's here and it all makes sense. As much sense as an episode of Scooby-Doo can make. This movie is AWESOME and Gene and Paul should get over themselves and give this movie the credit it deserves. What did they expect??
This movie accomplished exactly what it was supposed to do, it made KISS fan's of all the little kid's that watched it. Kid's who grew up to be a new generation of KISS Zombies and are now willingly handing their paychecks over to Gene and Paul so the 2 can still live in luxury. If you're a true KISS fan you'll LOVE this! If you're not then what the hell are you doing reading this anyway ????
This movie rocks and as a high school junior and KISS Army member, I tuned in to enjoy this for what it was...a well-crafted TV movie that was a whole helluva lotta fun. And believe me that was a feat because 99% of the made-for-TV movies back then blew bad!

My name is mike,and while I didn't buy my copy of the movie from ebay, I do own 2 copies of the movie, one on vhs and the other on dvd. I have to say compared to todays movies it IS a bit weak, but back in the days when it was first released in 1978, i LOVED it and to be honest that movie turned me into the huge fan I am today. I loved all the songs they performed on the movie. I am here to say that if your not a true fan, dont waste your money, but if you happen to be a die hard fan like myself, its a MUST HAVE.
