My 9 year old Niece loves all of the American Girl Cookbooks. The Recipes are easy to fallow and fun to make, and an added Bonus we get to sample her work.

A great little cookbook to teach your daughter to cook!
Review created: 02/09/09

I liked it because it was easy for kids to understand and learn about different cultures and different eras. The food tastes great and the recipes are simple and inexpensive.

These were very reasonably prices paper dolls and cookbook. My granddaughter loves dressing the Kirsten doll and reading about the historical significance of her different outfits and the occasions on which she wore them. The cookbook is lovely, very user friendly. Paper dolls provide hours of imaginative play for children.

Staying in Touch with the Past
Review created: 08/04/07

My daughters & I love anything that has to do with pioneer days. We seek knowledge like we are starving. We have found the American Girl Kirsten series & her activities fun, interesting & very full of past facts. We bought the Kirsten's Cookbook knowing ahead of time that we would not be disappointed. It is full of easy to do recipes, history & plenty of fun for everyone! There is no better way to teach your children about the past than by learning about it & trying it. This book has helped them to learn how easy they have it these days & how their great grandparents had to work so hard. We really enjoyed this book.

Reaching out to touch the past
Review created: 08/06/06

My daughter is into American Girl stuff. I especially like making history come alive with her by sharing activities. The recipes are updated enough to be easy to do, yet quaint enough to be something special.
We like comparing and contrasting her life with Kristen's. We decided that the past was fun to visit but it must have involved a lot of work!
