Don't waste your money buying this one.
It is based on the original but it is very long and unnecessarily drawn out. King Kong is cute at times but not enough to make me want to watch it. I could not wait for it to be over.
The scenes are not realistic and I just didn't care for the characters. They didn't seem realistic. The acting was very average.
It spends 3/4 of the movie in the jungle trying to caputre King Kong and 1/2 an hour in New York City knocking him off the empire state building.
The original was the best. The second one, which differed from the original was not good but was much better than this one. Avoid the disappointment.
Pick another movie.
