King Kong (DVD, 2006)

I am very disappointed about the vendor sending me what was represented to be a DVD version of the original King Kong movie with Fay Raye. Instead what I received was a "review" by different people "voiced over" the original sound track. It was akin to sitting in a movie theater with people talking so loud that it was impossible to hear the movie. I have writted three e-mails to the vendor and he has not responded in any manner as to why I did not receive what I purchased, (i.e. the original King Kong movie in DVD form). If there is any way of warning others not to purchase merchandise from this vendor, that would be a good thing.

If you're into the very first type of movie making ... this is the one for you!
I actually bought the movie at my wife's urging because we go to St. Maarten every year and Saba (which is a neighboring island that you can see from our condo) sits on the horizen, which is where a lot of the movie was filmed from. We haven't been to this island yet, so she just thought it was really kewl that scenes from the movie feature the island.
Fay Rey is hot for her era though....you have to admit ;)

I have always believed that there was no way to compete with the 1933 version, but I was wrong. This version stayed extremely close to the original. It incorporated new effects technology which enhanced the experience. So now I can enjoy two versions which are so simlar and yet so different that either is like a roller coaster ride for the entire family.

We went to the Empire State Building this summer and my son is a King Kong lover. He wanted the Original King Kong movie so I tried ebay, and got it.

Excellent movie for that era. Good story and cast with good effects for it's time. Good addition for a DVD collection

I loved finding and purchasing this dvd NEW because it is a very old movie.. not the new King Kong version. I bought the dvd because it is my sisters favorite movie and I wanted to give it to her, on dvd, as a birthday present.

I have always liked the King Kong movies. This one is the best one of them all. Probably because it was the first one made. I liked watching Fay Raye in it.There is a lot of action in this movie.

This original movie is still the best. In my opinion, the remakes don't hold a candle to it. It's rarely on TV, and this full length film has parts that are commonly cut out when it does air. It was a great choice for my families "movie night". Bring out the chips, dips and m&m's!
