King of Kings (DVD, 2003, Widescreen)

the story of King of Kings has been a favorite portrayal of the life of Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I appreciate the chance to add it to my library. It was received in a timely manner, and was in an unopened package

Excellent quality DVD. Video quality excellent. I haven't seen this film since I was very young and it was a pleasure to see it in widescreen as it was meant to be seen. Can't find many titles in the stores so eBay is my store. My buying decision was based on the fact that it is in widescreen format. My DVD purchases are based on my wanting to keep the DVD forever and watch it multiple times. I am a fan of this director's work (Nicholas Ray). He tells his story not with dialoge alone but thru camera movement, body language, compositon, etc. All these things are just as powerful a statement as a good script. This was most satisfying purchase. Hope this review helps others considering this film. Thank you...Tom Schenk.

let me start of by saying i've looked forever for this DVD I REALLY LIKE THIS MOVIE it complete my gospel movies

This is one of the classics that we as a family like to watch. It is sometimes hard to find movies like this one these days to watch as a family.

I purchased it and viewed it. It arrived promptly. I will purchase again from this vender. I have viewed it many times and shown it to others.

The first time I saw this movie I was a little Girl..I watched it with my Mother and Father..I was awed by the entire story from the start to the finish..This is one of the better depictions of the life and death of Jesus Christ..when I saw this one selling for only $7.50 I grabbed it up along with another fav. of mine "The Ten Commandment" which I will review at a later date! This film tells the story of Jesus' birth..his struggle against evil tyranny, his death and his triumphant return as our savour Christ..The storyline came from the greatest book ever written, the script was well written, the acting unequalled against todays standards..the scenes are lush and lavish a true attestament to the wonder of it all..I recomment this film to all true film and movie lovers all over the world..

King of Kings like Greatest Story Ever Told and The Ten Commandments, laid the ground for other religious epics. Jeffery Hunter played a good Jesus. Mr. Hunter's life was taken from him at an early age, he suffered a stroke and went home to be with Jesus who he portrayed.

This movie is very hard to find and I am glad that I now have it as part of my religious collection! Most of the men who have portrayed Jesus or in any of the old epics are deceased. Charlton Heston, played Moses in The 10 Commandments, Jeffery Hunter, played Jesus in King of Kings, just to name a few. Telly Savalas played in the Greatest Story Ever Told as did John Wayne and they too are deceased.

If you can't find a movie that you have been searching for you can always find it on Ebay! Most of my movies I have picked up on Ebay instead of going to Columbia House DVD club!

I love the movie, especially the topic. I love Jesus very much. This movie depicts the life of Jesus and what he went through for us. He is awesome.

IT WAS A VERY GOOD PRODUCT, ONLY THING IS THE VIDIO WAS LOOSE INSIDE THE CLOSED VIDIO CONTAINER. I WAS AFRAID THAT IT COULD GET SCRATCHED. ALL IN ALL HAPPY WITH WHAT WAS RECIEVED.

I have this movie on VHS but wanted it on DVD because DVD provides a better quality picture. This is the best religious movie I've ever seen depicting the life of Christ. This movie is a must for all religious libraries. Jeffrey Hunter is outstanding as Jesus. When they do a closeup of his eyes it's as if they're looking right through you and can read your inner thoughts. I especially found the speech on the mountain with him resiting the beatitudes very moving. My heart drops whenever I see the scene of Jesus with his Mother in their house. Jesus says that the next time he comes home he will fix the chair and his Mother replies "The chair will never be mended". My heart just aches for her because she knows what's about to come. It this movie doesn't stir up the feelings off love & compassion of our Lord, nothing will.

This movie is a timeless classic! I remember, as a kid, seeing this movie every year at Easter. I looked for this movie in many Christian book stores but could never find it. Finally found it on ebay.
The movie reflects the filmmaking of its time and is nothing compared to movies like "Passion of the Christ" but if you like the classics like Ben Hur, 10 Commandments, Greatest story ever told, etc. this movie is for you.

Great Movie & Great Condition -- someone @ work wanted to show it to their kids church group. Nothing to dislike @ all. Very educational.

This is the best movie dedicated to showing the life of Christ and I have enjoyed watching this movie over and over again during my days and I have enjoyed it so much and since they do not show it as often as they were any longer on TV I had to buy it so I can see it over and over and over again.....
This is a must buy if you never seen it or if you want to see it like me over and over and over again.....Praise God!!!!!

The dvd is in HD restored quality like never seen before for the first time , a spectacular gem of restoration on HD resolution quality at its best,100% magnificent.

I rented a copy, it is OK, but there are other titles produced which give a better theological background/explination.

This is not biblical at all, it is far from what the scriptures teach and poorly done! This movie portrays mary as something more than a women, more catholic like she is some kind of intercessor between God and man. This is not scripturally accurate, Also the scenes between Jesus and John the Baptist didn't happen and are not true. This movie will confuse people for there are many lies in it. Stay away and read your bibles so you won't be deceived.

One of the best family movies ever made about the life of Christ. This movie is very true to facts. This film is timeless and a wonderful film for all generations. Prefect for children 10 and older. This movie will be with them forever. Jeffery Hunter is superb as Jesus. A real "must see".

An incredible movie showing the three year ministry of Jesus Christ from its beginning and ends with a very dramatic and biblically correct re-enactment of the crucifixion of our Lord. A wonderful movie to watch and experience the passion of our Lord. Inspiring and thought provoking.

Rather nice telling of the story of Jesus Christ. A little over dramatic in some areas and lacking in a few others but nicely done
