Album Notes
Personnel: David Crosby (vocals, guitar); Michael Finnigan (vocals, keyboards); Davey Farragher (vocals, bass); Dan Dugmore (guitar); Jody Cortez (drums).
Recorded live at the Tower Theater, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 8, 1989. Includes liner notes by Bruce Pilato.
Recorded in 1989 during the tour for David Crosby's first post-rehab solo album, OH YES I CAN, the concert captured on THE KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR PRESENTS DAVID CROSBY is a low-key, intimate affair. Crosby fronts a four-piece band with none of the superstar cameos which regularly enliven his shows, as on 1995's IT'S ALL COMING BACK TO ME NOW.
He plays a few tracks from OH YES I CAN, with the piano ballad title track the highlight, but mostly wisely sticks to the material which made him famous. Songs like "Guinevere," "Lady of the Harbor," "DTja Vu," and the set-closing trio of "Wooden Ships," "Almost Cut My Hair," and "Long Time Gone" sound as fine as did their original versions.
