Could it be? Jack Black lets me down?

I was pretty excited when I originally saw the previews for this one. I'm a huge Jack Black fan and as far as rapper/actors go, well Mos Def is no Tupac Shakur, but I like him. Throw in Danny Glover, Mia Farrow...how could you go wrong with this kind of star power?
Well for starters, Be Kind Rewind just isn't all that funny. I don't know if my expectations of a Jack Black film are too high or what. He's got some moments that will get a laugh out of you, but Saving Silverman it is not. Jack just simply wasn't the show stealer that he should have been in this one.
The ending of the movie was a huge disappointment. Without spoiling it for those who still decide to watch the film, I'll say this; The entire movie is based on this basic plot. Unfortunately, you won't ever find out what happens. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for movies requiring me to think and use a little bit of imagination with regards to what happens afterwards. This really isn't that type of movie though. This isn't Devil's Advocate...this is a veg-out and laugh out loud type of film. Simply put...it just ends. I'm not sure why the writers wanted the audience to think about such a simple concept after watching this film, but apparently they did. Unfortunately, I think it's more likely that viewers will just say "Forget it...who cares?!?"
My recommendation would be this...If you REALLY wanted to see this and have a Netflix account, or a friend you can borrow it from, I'd go ahead. It's not so bad that you won't be able to sit through it. I wouldn't bother investing any kind of money into it though...the time you waste is more than enough.
