Following the success of KIDZ BOP, the good folks at Razor & Tie went back to the well with KIDZ BOP 2 and recorded another batch of recent hits with an army of session vocalists and enthusiastic children. In keeping this collection as kid friendly as the first volume, the producers skimmed the frothiest bubblegum pop available. Thus you have songs by N Sync ("It's Gonna Be Me"), Dream ("He Loves U Not," "U Remind Me"), and dreamy twins Evan & Jaron ("Crazy For This Girl"). Of course, the producers are also angling for pre-teens and tweeners to get hip to these sounds, so they made sure to include songs by Destiny's Child ("Survivor"), Aaliyah ("Try Again") and Alicia Keys ("Fallin'"). Rock fans also get acknowledged via songs by Three Doors Down ("Kryptonite, ) Lifehouse ("Hanging By A Moment"), and The Monkees by way of Smash Mouth ("I'm A Believer"). Incredibly, some of these versions almost become indistinguishable from the originals, including J. Lo's "I'm Real" (featuring a chap whose raspy delivery is nearly a dead-on impression of Ja Rule's original contributions).
