A perfect film - absolutely heartbreaking, although subtitle. A love letter to college grads!

Early mid-life crisis on film.

I first saw this film on IFC and bought it on VHS a few weeks later. The writing is witty and intellectual. The subtle nature of the film frequently leaves only dead air or an awkward stare where a more obvious joke might have existed. The dialog is loaded with quotables and clever observations of the nature of the masses of graduated unemployed. Fans of Wes Anderson, and more recent Baumbach films will likely enjoy the writing/cinematography presented in this film. "Kicking and Screaming" ponders the future of a generation lost to the expectation of greatness. If you like your jokes prepackaged with a laugh-track, search elsewhere.

I bought this movie on VHS years ago and ever since have ranted and raved about the brilliance of the film. This film boasts one of the most brilliant screenplays ever known, with wit pouring off the actors' tongues in phrases that are so true to real-life, that it will keep you rolling in the aisles with its random lines and unfortunately hillarious characters. Josh Hamilton, Eric Stoltz, Parker Posey and many more will keep you kicking and screaming for more.
