Recorded live at the Fremont Theatre, San Luis Obispo, California on March 4-6, 1996. Studio tracks were recorded at Yesworld Studio, San Luis Obispo, California from Fall 1995 to Spring 1996. Includes liner notes by Doug Gottlieb and Glenn Gottlieb.
Returning to one of its classic line-ups, Yes recorded a stunning performance in 1996 in San Luis Obispo, California for ecstatic fans who awaited the band's reunion. The two-disc performance set, KEYS TO ASCENSION, finds the band in sharper-than-ever form with masterful performances of classic hits like "Roundabout," "Siberian Khatru," "Starship Trooper," and a version of Paul Simon's "America." Also included are two new studio tracks in the classic Yes vein, "Be the One" and "That, That Is." What's more, the sonic clarity of this album is breathtaking, ensuring a dazzling experience for even the casual Yes fan. This most-favored incarnation of the art rock supergroup also released a second two-disc volume of cuts from this event, KEYS TO ASCENSION II.
