Keurig Special Edition B60 Coffee Maker

I bought a Keurig after reading all of the reviews about it. I thought to myself, surely this machine has a lot of hype to live up to.

Not only did it pass the hype test, it did so with flying colors.

Let me just say that if you are doing research on this machine, you will discover that people just rave about it. Review after review say it is worth the investment.

Add this review to that list.

PROS:
It works not just as a coffee maker, there are also tea K-Cups available and it also can be used to heat water in less than 20 seconds. So if you have a tea bag and just want hot water, there is not need to use a kettle. Ever.

You can buy a filter that allows you to place your own GROUND beans in the machine and make your favorite coffee blend.

It is ridiculously easy to use. No paper filters needed. No grinds in the bottom of the cup. No wasting away of drinking coffee in the morning.

KEURIG'S CUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE MAKES THIS A BEST BUY. If you have ANY problems, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, Keurig operators are at the ready. I once called then at midnight because I thought I was having an issue setting up the machine. The customer service guy (had a Boston accent) was very nice and answered all my questions. He also registered the machine (it was a "gift"- to myself :-)), so there was no need to mail in the warranty card.

The blue LED lights are the best kept secret about this machine. It is very modern and fits into any kitchen, both during the day and at night.

CONS:
The K-Cups are hard to find in stores. I have only seen Bed Bath and Beyond sell K Cups in the store. 18 k-cups for $10??? That's ridiculous. ENTER AMAZON... They sell 50 K-Cups for $19.00. That is a better deal by FAR. You would be well to do to buy a coffee variety pack so you can see which one is the best for you. You don't want to get stuck with 50 K-cups of a flavor you don't like.

If you are having a group of people over, it's definitely easier to make a 12-cup batch of coffee. Some people may not like having to use 12 K-cups (a K-Cup for each guest). But here's the thing. Every single person will comment on how good their coffee is. You can then show them the Keurig, and it’s a great conversation piece.

The B60 is a good compromise among the Keurig models. You can save your money and not spend $30 for a larger water reservoir. So you get a travel mug size of 11.25(?) oz. in the B70. So what? The 9.etc oz. cup size is plenty big for most coffee mugs once you mix in the creamer.

Let's be frank. It's expensive. But honestly, the investment is worth it. Trust the reviews about the machine. People are more inclined to write a review if they really love a product or it they really hate a product. Obliviously, people love this machine, and for good reason.

It is economical to buy this machine if you hate wasting $2, $3 or $4 at a coffee shop for your coffee in the morning. The per-cup average is about 40 cents, but for the long term, this machine pays itself off.

BOTTOM LINE:
If you're reading this review, you obviously care about what other people think before you spend $100 on a freaking coffee maker. Don't worry. I was in your shoes. But there is a peace of mind that comes along knowing that you made the right choice. Do as much research as you can and get as many opinions as you can. But just remember that thousands of satisfied Keurig customers can't be wrong.

This coffeemaker is by far the best. I have owned a basic percolator, a grind & brew and now this. There is no clean-up involved. Low maintainence, fill water resovoir every couple of days. The coffee is a good as fresh brewed anywhere. I no longer am dependant on coffehouses like Starbucks. My home brew is better, faster and doesn't cost $3.50 a cup, morelike $.50 if you include the cup and creamer.

This is by far the best kitchen purchase I have ever made, next to my microwave! The Keurig B60 is the best coffee maker and it's perfect for me. My husband doesn't drink coffee, and I only like about a cup a day, so making an entire pot would be a huge waste. This brewer is so convenient and easy to use, especially for a working mom. There is no mess to clean up and it requires no measuring. Even my 9 year old son enjoys making me a cup of coffee, that's how easy it is to use. It is also very attractive and has this cool blue lighting. I am saving a fortune by not going through Starbuck's drive-thru every morning. The coffee is delicious and always fresh. You never get that "burnt" flavor. There is such a huge variety of flavors of K-cups made by several different companies. I recommend getting a few of the variety boxes so you can sample them to see which are your favorites, and then you can purchase entire boxes of those favorites later. I find myself drinking hot tea in the evenings more often because it is so easy to make! My Keurig is programmable, but I never use that feature because it brews my cup in less than a minute, why would you need to set it up ahead of time?! While you cannot purchase K-cups at most grocery stores, I have found them at Kohl's, Bed Bath & Beyond, Linens-N-Things, E-bay, and of course on the Keurig website and the different websites of the coffee manufacturers that produce the K-cups for the brewer. Don't worry about the expiration dates on the K-cups. I have brewed several that were past their dates, and they were just as delicious as when they were brand new. I got hooked on this machine at the clinic where I had my lasik surgery, and then another patient informed me that she went online to search for them because she too was in love with it. She told me that you can buy a "home sized" edition, actually a few different brewers to choose from. My friends and family make fun of me because I won't shut up about my coffee maker, but they don't have one, so they just don't understand!

I was introduced to the Keurig Coffee Maker by a friend who owns the B40. I was amazed at the speed and convenience. I had to have one! When I compared the features of the different models, the B60 was my choice. The Keurig line of single cup coffee makers is in my opinion the best on the market. The convenience and reliability of the coffee makers, and the consistenly great cups of coffee, one at a time, make the Keurig Coffee Makers second to none. The B60 is an exceptional value with its feature of being able to make three different cup sizes. Ordering the coffee packs from Keurig is fast and easy and the different choices of flavors are endless. The coffee club discount they offer along with their free shipping makes them an excellent value. I would highly recommend the Keurig to anyone who loves a great cup of coffee!

I love my new Keurig coffee maker. In less than a minute I can have a cup of coffee,hot chocolate, or tea. I like that I can choose from 3 sizes - a small cup, a small mug, or a large mug. There are literally hundreds of choices of quality coffees and teas. I think the K-cups can be a little pricey, but the newer Keurig models have an accessory, sold separately, that allow you to brew any coffee you can buy. I also purchased the 27 cup carousel so I have all my choices close at hand. It doesn't take up too much counter space, and it makes selecting the K-cup you're craving much easier. All my siblings have Keurigs and love them, too. My older brother bought his first, then I bought one for my younger brother, and then I had to get one for myself.

Basically I am not a coffee drinker. I like the fact that I can get up in the morning and within 1 minute have a cup of the best coffee I have had. In my entire life of drinking coffee in restuarants daily, (no comparison), this is so conveniant and no waste. Some people may say it is expensive but I bought my coffee on the internet at better prices than I can locally and considering no waste, I think it is cheaper(38-45 cents each) I drink Columbian coffee, my wife drinks decaf and it is great for brewing green tea, so we drink only what we want at the time and no wasted product.

Great coffee machine but not perfect! I tried other single cup makers and this is the best system so far. I really like the My-K-Cup feature so that I can have fresh ground coffee on my weekends and after dinner times but jump to the prepackaged K-cups for those hurried mornings. Nice to have options. I can't get my favorite coffee in K-Cups so this is another reason to use the My-K-Cup accessory. The My-K-Cup is a better system than the Tasso system with its filter packs that you have to buy over and over again, stuffing the Tasso packs is a hassle.

Negatives:
1. Big footprint. This is a counter top hog. There is a smaller model for hotel use call the B130 that I wish was available for home use. Looks to be about half the footprint of any of the other machines.
2. Noisy pump. Cannot use this if the baby is sleeping. Can rattle anything on the counter that is not secure. I put a tool drawer liner under it to dampen the vibration, but now I have to hold the coffee cup until the pumping stops or the cup will walk off and the coffee will pour out all over the counter.
3. Expensive K-Cups. If you go to local retail stores you will pay way too much for the coffee. I order online from the coffee roasters directly or from Amazon. Many of the coffee roasters offer specials at greatly reduced prices.

I finally got so fed up with my coffee machine as the carafe dribbles and it is a pain to clean up. I researched the single cup machines and liked all of what I read about Keurig. Especially that Green Mountain Coffee offered a large assortment of coffees and there were many new (to me ) Coffee companies to choose from as well. I have medical problems that make for a complicated like and the ease of use has freed up my morning and I can now make tea at any time I want with out creating a mess to clean up. When my Pug MeetUp group come over I can serve them all their choice of beverage with no extra effort. Not only does this brewer make great coffee but it's almost as good as having another person in the kitchen serving your guests. The K-cups are easy to order and promptly shipped, you can set up automatic deliveries in wanted. Brewing your favorite coffee that does not come in a K-cup is simple and much easier than my old coffee maker and an almost instant clean up. Worth every penny and the best time and effort saver I have.

I love this coffee maker primarily for the convenience it offers. My wife and I used to argue over who would get up in the morning and put on a pot of coffee. Now, we just get up, pop in a K-cup of our favorite flavor, and less than a minute later, we've got a fresh brewed cup of coffee. It's ready even quicker, if we've programmed the time to have the unit turn itself on, already -- but it heats the water so quickly, that function is hardly necessary.

The B60 looks great, too, with it's chrome accents and drip pan. The water tank is extremely easy to remove and replace; or, simply remove the lid, and fill it from a pitcher. The tank hlds 48 ounces of water, which is enough to keep you going all morning. Clean up simply involves dumping the used K-cup and periodically cleaning the drip pan. That's nothing compared to removing and dumping the used coffee filter (from a drip brewer)and having to clean the pot and filter holder. PLUS -- no more left over, wasted coffee that has to be dumped!

I have two very small gripes:
1 -- the priming period is actually longer than the inistructions indicate. It takes a few brew cycles to get rid of the bitter machine taste; afterwards, though -- nothing but fresh coffee taste.
2 -- the machine makes a little noise as it sucks water out of the tank for each brew. The pump makes the machine vibrate enough to cause the drip pan to rattle, too. The combined noises are not necessarily loud, just annoying at times. The machine would be PERFECT if they somehow incorporated some dampers to insulate that noise and vibration.

Finally, K-cups (the coffee) are available in a variety of flavors/blends, from a variety of sources and at very reasonable prices. I have memberships with a couple of coffee distributors who offer free shipping when you buy 4 or more boxes of K-cups. Each box contains 24 k-cups, so 4 boxes is a total of 96 K-cups and the price for those 4 boxes is about 45.00. That comes to just under $.50/cup of coffee -- a lot cheaper than Starbucks! And, a lot more convenient, too.

It's a great coffee maker. The pump is quite noisy, so we remove the silver plate to put the cup on, We also have it sitting on a couple of mousepads. That has quietet it down a lot.
If you like strong coffee there are only a couple of brands available. Our favorite by far is Emeril's Bold with Newman's bold being the 2nd favorite. I bought them at Bed Bath & Beyond for 9.99 a box.
Overall, we like it a lot.

I never liked coffee because I couldn't make it to save my life! Either too bitter, too weak, boring, etc. With the Keurig B60, you get a perfect cup of coffee every time with no waste as you make it fresh each cup. And no thinking or special skill as the "k-cups" (pre-packaged coffee cups made for single serves-and mutiple flavored) provide easy clean up and perfect coffee with just a push of the button. No wasted coffee as you only make what you drink-so no sitting around for hours to either be thrown away or to be re-heated and then thrown away because it now tastes like dirt! I cannot talk enough about this gadget. It is the best thing since sliced bread. My ranting about this made my sister go out and buy one and now she's a believer. And for those who do not like coffee no matter how many flavors are available, the k-cups come available with different teas and hot chocolate. The point is, there are no mistakes and hardly any clean up except for the one cup you drank out of. I promise you, you will not regret the purchase. Matter of fact, I would give you a money back guarantee if I was in the position of doing so-which I am not- so you just have to trust me on this one! :-)

The machine is sharp in design, and fits comfortably in our’s and probably all kitchens. Operation is simple: fill the tank with water, open the top and load a K-cup, close the breach and press start, 30 seconds later, one perfectly brewed cup of joe. And when I say perfectly brewed, I ain’t kidding. This is easily the best coffee I’ve ever had (and I’ve enjoyed coffee all around the world)…it’s way too good. No chance they can cram any more essence or flavor into each of those little demon-spawn cups from hell. My personal consumption two fold since I bought this machine. I even purchased a B70 Keurig Coffee Maker for the office so I can keep drinking throughout the day. There are well over a hundred-ninety varieties of coffee and tea, and so far I haven’t had a bad cup of anything that I would normally like. The flavored coffees are fine, which I enjoy most. Pros: stylish, simple to use, house guests will love, 190+ different flavors of coffee, teas, and cocoa. Only Con is maybe price of k-cups if you drink several cups a day. Sure beats Starbucks in price though, and just as good. I recommend any Keurig coffee maker.

I was once a weekend only coffee drinker. Actually, a coffee waster when you consider that hubby and I would make a pot of Joe that throw over half of it away. That all changed when we brought home the Keurig coffee brewer.

This machine is ultra easy to use, simple to clean, and it brews great tasting coffee and tea. It is a highly appreciated luxury. It produces piping hot beverages in way under a minute with your choice of brewing strength. Entertaining is even more delightful by the wonderful service of Keurig’s swiftly served single cups of hot beverage. Guests simply choose what they want when they want with no waiting. It is terrific.

Operating instructions: Fill removable water reservoir, open lid, put K-cup in, close lid, press button for beverage size, seconds later brewing is complete. Clean up by opening lid and throwing used K-cup away. Rinse out removable trip tray if needed. How easy is that?!

I love this machine! Makes a perfect cup of coffee every time with absolutly no mess to clean up! There are many diferent coffees and teas to choose from. My only complaint is the amount of water that the unit holds but it is sufficiant.

I LOVE my coffee, used to make it in a vintage stainless steel vacuum pot, which I still do when I have company. I make a Columbian Supremo cup every day, multiple times a day, and it is ALWAYS fresh, hot and satisfying. I purchased my Keurig after seeing it in my dentist's office. We've had it for two years plus now and it is great. I descaled it once so far -- we mostly use filtered or bottled water in the reservoir -- and it works wonderfully.

I belong the the Keurig Coffee Club online through Keurig.com and get lots of freebies and free shipping and 15-20% off purchases of Kcups. It's worth it for us. I order lots of coffee in one order. I can also buy the Kcups at BJ's warehouse (here in Northern NJ) where you can get 100 cups for 39.99. That's not a bad buy. But I like the variety I can get online at Keurig.com. And we like to try out different types of coffees so it just makes sense to order online.

Since I purchased our Keurig I have told everyone I know about it. I just LOVE it! And I wish I could have made a commission because my 7 of my co-workers have purchase Keurig machines and coffee since I turned them on to it. Because of Bed Bath & Beyond's 20% off coupons, they all purchased their machines at BB&B and they all love their purchases.

Since I also have a machine here at work, everyone who has a machine at home brings in a box of Kcups and we all have a little coffee time together! It's really great.

I like it. This machine is ok for everyday home brew. A bit slow but worth the price. So far so good.

I love my Keurig Coffee maker because it makes the best coffee in a matter of seconds. If I decide to have hot tea or instant hot chocolate instead, it too is ready in a matter of seconds. The only thing I don't like about it is the time and money it takes to order K-Cups for this coffee maker.It can get rather expensive compared to a pound of coffee. Each one costs about 60 cents, minimum. I bought one of the My K-Cup individual coffee filters, already broken around the edges. It's a nice change of pace to brew your own brand, but not nearly as convenient. Each time you want another cup of your own brand of coffee, you have to take the individual filter apart, empty it, wash it out, refill it and reinsert it into the machine before you can reuse it. The K-Cups are truly convenient, remove the old one, put in new and brew!

This is my second Keurig K-Cup coffee brewer. I still have my old one (model 100) because I'm having a hard time wanting to part with it. My new model B60 REALLY fills the bill for my family! It's features are so much better than the old model. Given the choices that Keurig offers, we decided on the B60 because we thought it the best machine for our needs. We were not disappointed! Now, if I can just find a new & loving home or my old model 100....!!!

I bought the Keurig Special Edition B60 coffee maker for my husband for Christmas. He had fallen in love with one when we were at the Home Builder's Association, and had wanted one ever since. I am always looking for a deal, so last year I bought a coffee maker that I thought was similar to this one. IT WAS NOT AT ALL. It was one of those coffee makers that has a reservoir that stores 44oz of coffee in the back of it. And you push a button to dispense the coffee whenever you are ready for a cup. Well, it ended up getting shelved and not used much because it was not convenient at all, and was very hard to clean. Then, I bought the Keurig this Christmas, and it is as good as it gets! I have become a coffee lover because of this machine. It's the most convenient appliance that we own. When you wake up in the morning, it's there waiting on you...with the water warmed and pretty blue light on. I think if the Keurig could talk it would probably say something like, "Good morning good looking, how 'bout a cup of coffee?" HAHA! Ant then, you just choose what flavor K-Cup you are in the mood for and in about 8 seconds you have a fresh brewed cup of great coffee. The K-Cups come in so many different varieties that you could have a different cup of coffee each morning for months. The BEST! I promise, you will not be disappointed!

I love this coffee maker. It climates the waste that a traditional coffee maker would make. Its easy to set up and the coffee kups are pretty cheap. This is a great product.
