Keurig Elite B40 Coffee Maker

My husband & I received a gift certificate for Christmas, and it took us days of browsing around Target before we could finally agree on something. Both of us had a hard time deciding what we wanted, and so we went up and down each isle to get ideas. Upon coming into the coffee maker isle, we both looked at each other because our current coffee maker was on the fritz, and so we started to look at the coffee makers. We saw all the typical brewing systems which were just fine for our needs, but then he saw the automatic coffee brewing systems that run from $99-$199.00 and his eyes grew large with amazement and wonder. My husband loves gadgets.... he has remotes for everything, including the ceiling fan. So when he saw the Keurig Coffee Brewing System ($99.99 at Target) he was in love. This system is different compared to all the other coffee brewers that we were used to using. This system uses individual coffee pods so that each cup is brewed on demand and this gives you the ultimate in freshness. Brewing time is only 30-40 seconds per cup, and there are so many varieties of coffee flavors, teas, and even hot cocoa that no matter what flavor you are seeking you can have it. It's wonderful!

When you purchase the system you do receive a box of coffee pods that come from various makers in various flavors. There are even teas and hot cocoa. This variety of samples allows you to find what coffee flavor suits you which is great.

My husband & I love this system so much. It is perfect for us and our life sytle. However..... if you drink more than 2-3 cups of coffee in the morning, or even use a whole pot, then price wise this is not the most economical choice for you. If your needing to brew a pot or more each morning then you may want a normal coffee system. My husband & I wasted so much coffee before doing that, and it wasn't as fresh tasting sitting out after an hour or more, so that is why we prefer the Keurig Coffee Brewing System.... it's been the best purchase we have made in a long time that we are mutually pleased with. Truly, AND IT's SOOOO EASY TO USE!

The coffee pods can be purchased wherever the coffee systems are sold but in the stores you will not find much in the way of variety. There are several websites (a card comes with the system that lists them all and what they sell) that sell the coffee pods and they are cheaper to purchase online (and you get more per box) then it is if you bought them in the store.

***UPDATE 2/23/2008: It has been over a year since we purchased this system, and I still love it just as much as I did the very first day I bought it. Infact, I can honestly say I love it even more, and it is by far the BEST investment my husband nad I have made in a long time as far as home related purchases go. You cannot go wrong with this system... you just can't.

We have purchased several of these coffee makers for ourselves and the family. The machines have proved to be reliable and great for making coffee or tea on the go. The K Cups are readily available in retail stores, on the net or on eBay. Kurig has just come out with hot cocoa in K Cups which is sure to make the kids happy. The B50 has a few more features (such as a variable cup size), but the B40 is a great workhorse and a good deal for the money.

Works great. No more making a pot of coffee and throwing half of it away. It makes one cup at a time and it's a perfect cup every time. Couldn't be happier. It takes less than a minute to make a cup too. No mess, no fuss.

The Keurig B40 Coffee Maker is their entry level coffee maker for the home market.

The B40 Specifications:

2 Brewing cup sizes: 7.25 oz and 9.25 oz.
Removable 48 oz. water reservoir
Removable drip tray to catch unwanted spills.

The nice thing about the B40 is that it makes a super hot cup of coffee in under 30 seconds. You put in the k-cup (sold online and at different stores) and poof you have a single cup of coffee!

My wife and I were spending a lot of money making huge pots of coffee, only to throw the extra out that we didn't drink. However, with the B40 we just drink what we want.

The price of the B40 can range from $90 - $140 depending on where you purchase it from. I'd suggest looking on the Keurig webpage for discounts. :)

In function this is a nice item. Paying $40-80 cents a cup is a little steep. It heats water fast, dispenses it into the cup with no mess, is easy to use once it's set up cycle is done but for my money it's pricey and the coffee is expensive. Great for one or two people but the first cup (9 oz.) is a little strong and the second cup needs some instant coffee added for flavor.
I have never got more than two cups out of a pack. I guess I'm just a Folgers guy. Oh, yeah, if buying the coffees on Ebay watch for EXPIRATION dates! The sellers there also charge shipping and if you spend $45 or more with Keurig online shipping is free.
Get the base models before going all out and buying a more expensive model that makes bigger cups.

This product is just as I expected. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it's cheaper than the newer models and it makes the coffee just as good as the newer models. I love this product!!!
It gives me the convenience of making 1 cup, without a mess, and heading out the door!!

Words can't describe this coffee maker it is awesome. Fast brewing in less than a minute. Lots of different flavors to choose from. Absolutely the best coffee maker I have ever owned. Guests are always amazed by the ease of use and how quickly is brews a cup of coffee. A full cup in under a minute you will never brew coffee the same again A+++

Makes Green Mountain Coffee and tastes amazing. It is better than the pod machines and almost no clean up... what else can I say.

Well, I have to tell you that my husband is the KING of Coffee Makers Critic!!! We've had so many coffe makers in this house that I lost count about five years ago....and I'd like to have back all the money we have wasted on them....not to mention the hundred of dollars we have wasted on wasted coffe.
But NOW, we are the proud owners of the KEURIG and even "I" the lowest coffee maker in the , has to agree that this baby is PERFECT for all of us. We each can have WHAT WE LIKE - WHEN WE WANT IT!! No more making coffee late at night for next morning...or throwing a batch out because we want a different flavor. THIS coffee maker HAS IT ALL!! NOt to mention that ALL of the flavors are really great...plus the teas and cocoas...and the little "shots" of coffe are easily purchase, here in town or even better - CHEAPER by far here on eBay. Of all the makers that we have owned, tried and thrown/given away, THIS COFFEE WIFE loves this one THE BEST!! Although maybe a tad bit more expensive than most GOOD coffee makers, it's well worth every penny. The machine is well made and easy to use as well.
So, there you have it....this Coffee Lover's Spouse gives Keurig Five Stars because.....KEURIG DOES IT BETTER!!!

I only need one cup at a time...not a whole pot. This product helps eliminate waste. The k-cups are a bit pricey....So I purchased the fill your own coffee filter as well. This is a fast and efficient way to have a great flavorful cup when you need it.

The ebay seller i bought the coffee pot from never sent me the coffee pot. She kept telling it was mailed. Turned out she printed a label from Pay Pay and she never shipped anything at all. She is a scammer and i can't believe ebay allow her to sell on ebay. Two months after i finally got my money back from paypal the same day she relisted my coffee pot.

I was disappointed with my purchase because the seller described the Keurig coffee maker as new when in fact it had been used. When I received it it was dirty. I would not recommend buying from this seller.

Makes a really great cup of coffee every time. Wide variety of coffees available. Teas and hot chocolate too. By far the best coffee making system I have ever owned.

I have one at work and at a turn of a chair, I can make myself fresh flavored coffee or hot chocolate. My colleagues' are jealous & are now purchasing the Keurig coffee flavors so that they can use my coffee maker. It's a big hit at work...and home too. I have 2!

Someone gave me one of these as a gift, and I reluctantly slid my old coffee maker to the side, and tried one of these individual coffees.

IT WAS GREAT! I tried another to be sure, and it was quick, efficient and my wife loved it too! I immediately bought an assortment of 100 coffee cups and bought ANOTHER B40 to have this great coffeemaker at my weekend home also! I'm thinking about putting one on my boat, it's so delicious!

There are other models with more bells and whistles, but this is a great basic unit, and it makes a cup-o-joe FAST! I love it!

After visiting friends and enjoying their Keuring B40 coffee maker, we decided we wanted one. It is an excellent cup of coffee without the fuss of a filter and coffee grounds to clean. The added feature is the ability of friends and visitors to choose the flavor to their own preference. It is a mini Starbucks in our own home! We love choosing and trying the many different K cups that are available.

I love this Coffee Maker - makes great coffee, tea, etc. Probably one of my best purchases for someone who lives alone. Both coffee, tea are very hot and nice and strong. Worth every penny !

This coffee maker keeps the water hot - just waiting for you to need your next cup. Reheat time is fast - 90 seconds or so. From button push to cup of coffee is about 60 seconds. The cups are a little small for my drinking habits, but it makes an average cup size. Machine is pretty bulky and takes up about the same amount of space as a regular maker, so it is no space-saver. However, the key to this gem is that you can make ONE cup of your favorite brew and then tea or hot cocoa for someone else - all within a 90 seconds! Or change to a different flavor - and all made fresh and just for you. So - if you like variety, this is the maker for you!
