Kenwood KDC-X493 Car CD/ MP3 Player

To keep this short and sweet, I needed a deck that would re-create audio at its finest levels, with minimal/no distortion, and decent set of end features. The Kenwood Excelon line of decks are the most inexpensive TRUE 24bit dac head units on the market with capability of playing at louder than normal levels with amazing clarity. It has great built in cross-overs that allow the end user to feel like they have a EQ ready at hand and the simple bass/mid/treble settings still give you that finishing end user touch to fine tune the music to your ears. The plastic menu push buttons could have been refined a little better but still have a solid feeling to them. Front usb and aux access is a BIG plus with very little mass storage seek time and clean aux audio output. Over-all this head unit's price point should make other companies really take a few notes from Kenwood as far as what you receive for your hard earned cash.
