Nice headunit for the average user that doesn't want or need all the bells and whistles. The input jack on the front of the unit is a nice feature for Ipod users.
However, I do not like the clock setting procedure. I have yet to get a unit (KDC-138) to display the correct time. Following the procedure in the owners book exactly, I could not get the unit to display the time adjustment menu. In my opinion, this is something Kenwood needs to work on.
Overall, the Kenwood KDC-138 is a nice standard unit for the money. It has all the functions needed to get good sound in your vehicle. The internal amplifier of the unit is enough to drive standard speakers to a strong listening level. A great unit to replace your factory radio or worn out aftermarket unit.

I decided to by this CD player because of the Kenwood name and I was not disappointed. This CD player was very easy to install with wires marked for proper installation. The sound is awsome and it is very easy to operate. I bought this for my daughter's first vehicle. She is 16 and has no problems operating the unit.

This is a good buy for the price-very basic radio & cd player. This is all I needed but after it was installed I found that I missed a clock on the display. I would have paid more for this 'extra' but luckily my car has a small clock on the dash.

This is one of the few in-dash units that fits my VW Golf correctly . Kenwood products have always performed well for me , and this one is no exception . Auxiliary input on face of unit is a plus for

Overall this model works very well. The menus are reasonably easy, although you'll still need the manual just to set the clock. The time display is much too small for older eyes.
Compared to 95% of the overly complicated units sold at Best Buy, this unit is reasonably easy to use for those of us who don't want a mega-function radio/CD player that looks like the instrument panel of an Airbus A380.
