Though Kellie Pickler first came to public attention as an endearingly bubble-headed blonde contestant on season five of AMERICAN IDOL, her debut album, SMALL TOWN GIRL, was an entirely credible contemporary country album that garnered a Best New Artist nomination from the Country Music Association.
