Kelis Was Here [PA] by Kelis (CD, Aug-2006, LaFace USA)

I hate to say it because I read there might have been some ill feelings between Kelis and the Neptunes. I don't believe in going back if it isn't workin' but I missing the chemistry that they had together. Not feelin' the trax from producer WILL from the Black Eye Peas. Raphael Saadiq gave her some cool tracks but still none compare to the tracks of Kaleidoscope and Wanderland. "Blindfold" and "Bossy" is some of the favs for the clubs. I'm still buyin ya joints Kelis cause your bringin it different than the rest of the boring radio play. "Circus" is closer to her edgy previous chances that she used to take. "I Don't Think So" is tight for the skaters. I've only given half the CD about 2 days on the ipod. I'm lookin forward to finishing it though cause I'm a fan. Don't look for the Neptunes feel on here but her lyrics and voice remain tasty (no pun attended).

Kelis was here did'nt feel as memorable as her first album Kaleidoscope.Although this album has more of a hip hop sound compared to her unfogettable eclectic sound,it left me with songs I rather choose to forget. I thought she could have done a more effortful job in developing this album.Still some songs on the album are very good and presented.

"Kelis was here" fails to reach the heights of her previous albums. The songs are either too boring or eccentric, and the album lacks coherence and depth.

It's unfortunate not alot of people bought this cd. I found living proof and i like you to be original tracks and worth listening to in my car on the way to work. Just plain good music.
