Karaoke Revolution Presents American Idol Encore (Microphone Included) (Playstation 3, 2008)

This game was a lot of fun, and should in particular appeal to fans of the show, as Randy, Paula & Simon are there to critique your performance. Much like the real judges, Paula almost always has something nice to say, and Simon is hard to please. The song mix is good, and includes classics by Queen and Phil Collins alongside newer acts like Rihanna, Beyonce and Natasha Bedingfield. There are a variety of modes to play and backgrounds to sing against, including the AI audition rooms, and some post-Idol venues like a nightclub and a New York stage. The stages, as well as your character's performances, get more interesting the better you sing. (My character was doing well in the Finals and started busting out some breakdance moves while it started snowing on the stage!)

The flaws of this game are that it is too easy to beat, and that it doesn't pack as much as it could/should have into it for a PS3 game. There's only about 30 songs to pick from, and that's after you've unlocked a few. Even the PS2 version of this game has more song selection. You can however buy more songs online. Also, I consider myself just an average singer, but I beat the game on hard level after only a few hours of play. The judges comments repeat too often, and there's no appearance by show host Ryan Seacrest.

Overall, this game is a little disappointing, but still very fun, especially for Idol fans. Non-AI fans might want to look into one of the Singstar games instead.

Fun game to waste time with friends. Don't like the fact that on some songs the mic gets distorted for unknown reasons. There is a short delay when you sing and it coming out of the speakers. Other than that its not a bad game to have.

its a good game to have when u have friends come over but its fun game also love too do solos and duets and its a great experience to learn how to play the game

Game installed and updated quickly. Easy and fun to play alone but awesome with friends and family. The game has a decent selection of songs, but if you are into singing country like I am you are out of luck. There aren't any country songs and the songs on the game will really test your vocal range. So if you think you can sing go ahead and get one, you'll be glad you did.

Ask yourself are you an "American Idol Singer?" If you truly like American Idol or other Karaoke Revolution Singing games, please do yourself a favor & do not go with PS3 games. I adore my PS2 American Idol games other than the one you have to push buttons and never get to sing (Made by Codemasters)! I have no ideal what the makers of this game are thinking. PS2 great PS3 (Even American Idol Encore) is completely changed and horrible. I Spoke with customer service & they acknowledged that they have problems with PS3 Encore & Encore 2. If we expect to enjoy American Idol & Karaoke Revolution as in PS2 games, please contact the company that creates these games (look on your games & you'll be able to find who to contact & if not contact me & I'll give you the info needed). If we don't come together over this matter, we'll either have to deal with PS3 versions or we (together) might be able to establish that we enjoyed the PS2 versions. In other words, if it's great why not leave it alone?

Game was defective, I had to pay to ship it back, and I got a refund excluding the shipment cost. Disappointed! NEVER BUYING A NEW GAME OFF EBAY AGAIN!

It seem at first to be great, but it turns out, it was not what expected. It had way less songs than what I expected.

American Idol Encore was a great purchase. We are really having fun with this game and it is easy to work. I only wish there were more song choices included with the game.

I just really love this American Idol 2 game. It is great entertainment that I love doing with my friends at their house & now I bought my own for my home so my family can also enjoy. The graphics are pretty good & it's fun being able to have the option to change the warddrobe of the character you choose.
It's great practice & just pure fun.I'd recommend this.

I love the game and how the scoring works. There are pitch bars that make it easy to see when you need to change your voice tone. I do not like that you have to pay $2.99 for each extra song, however atleast the game has this option. Overall I give the game a 4 of 5 star rating and would recomend to anyone that likes to sing.
