Kaplan Medical USMLE Step 1 Qbook by Kaplan (2005, Paperback)

You need to study first. You have to master the materials before going through the questions. Once you do that once, the test questions will help you a lot. You have to put some time restraint for yourself to get the most benefit of the book. Set your stopwatch for 1 hour for each test, then check the answers and determine your score. If you answer less than 35/50 correct, then go back to your study material and study again. The answers provided after each section are helpful but a bit lengthy.

Excellent book. I bought this book a couples weeks ago and containing about 850 high - quality questions organized by discipline into several tests 50 questions each. You will find two Anatomy tests, two Microbiology/Immunology tests, two Biochemistry tests, five Pathology/Pathophysiology tests, two Pharmacology tests, two Physiology tests and two questions Behavioral Sciences and Biostatistics tests.
My advise is to use this book only after reviewing each discipline.
Section One contains many useful test - taking and study strategies.
By buying this book, you can also sample Kaplan's online Qbank free. This book has only twenty questions, some of which are already included in the book. So, don't expect much more practice online as they promise you in the front cover.

This book is amazing. After reviewing each USMLE Step 1 subject, the exams within the book help consolidate all the information and recall facts you may have forgotten. The questions are great. However, I do feel the questions could have been a little more difficult such as how they are in the online Qbank. Overall the book is great and will definetely help you prepare well for the first part of the boards. Good Luck with your exam.
