Kaffir Boy by Mark Mathabane (1998)
One fantastic autobiography! I could hardly lay the book down! Extremely well written and extremely graphic and very well described. If one doesn't understand "apartheid" then you will after reading the book. In-depth insite to the life of a black African boy and his family in a slum city in South Africa. Unimaginable pain and suffering endured in that place, caused by the government and the so called "police", the poverty, the hunger.Unbelieveable one can be jailed for simply losing their meager job! If nothing touches your heart....Kaffir Boy will.
