Publisher's Note JUST WHO WILL YOU BE? is a candid, heartfelt, and inspirational book for seekers of all ages. Inspired by a speech she gave, Maria Shriver’s message is that what you do in your life isn’t what matters. It’s who you are. It’s an important lesson that will appeal to anyone of any age looking for a life of meaning. In her own life, Shriver always walked straight down her own distinctive path, achieving her childhood goal of becoming "award-winning network newswoman Maria Shriver". But when her husband was elected California’s Governor and she suddenly had to leave her job at NBC News, Maria was thrown for a loop. Right about then, her nephew asked her to speak at his high school graduation. She resisted, wondering how she could possibly give advice to kids, when she was feeling so lost herself. But in the end she relented and decided to dig down and dig deep, and the result is this little jewel. JUST WHO WILL YOU BE? reminds us that the answer to many of life’s question lie within -- and that we’re all works in progress. That means it’s never too late to become the person you want to be. Reviews Review created: 07/07/08 by: Love the way Maria Shriver describes her feelings regarding what each person's future will be. It has a twist of "humor" (Maria Style). Great for uplifting one's position with a "future" generation. Quite an entertaining little book. With she would write one about Arnold! ha Ha Ha We ALL would buy it! Report this review I found this book to be a very refreshing approach to the all to often "surprises" life sends us, and the ruts we can fall into before we even realize what has happened. I am so sick of the repetitive "self help" books. Most of them are just saying the same thing with different words. I also think the alarming amount of these type of books screams volumes about our society today. This book was a simple light-hearted read. It didn't get to heavy and was quite realistic. I also think Maria Shriver has a great attitude and is a very "real" person that most anyone can relate to despite the privilege she was born into. She takes a funny but real approach to personal growth, parenting, and making the most of life. She re-evaluates her place in life with an honest approach that is easy to relate to. Good book. I recommend it for a quick read and a realistic voice of how so many of us find ourselves in new places we never expected to be. Review ID: 10000000007728303 Was this review helpful? Report this review Excellent motivation. Explains how humble she is. Short read-less than an hour but well worth it. Coming from a rich family and a successful husband with all of the welath available to her, she realizes later in life that even though all of that is nice , it is not what makes your worth. It is not who you are that is important but who you want to be. Review ID: 10000000007723897 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 06/08/08 by: I liked her first book alot. So I thought this new book would be a great graduation present also. Besides our granddaughter is all hair and teeth. For now, she is rather shy. Maybe she'll change. I especially like that she is out right about her personal life also. She is a very brave woman. I am glad we bought this book. Review ID: 10000000007490132 Was this review helpful?
