I have yet to hear an Aerosmith album that I didnt like, but with that said this isnt their greatest work. However Jaded is one of my alltime favorite songs and there are some other good ones on here as well.

This item was listed to be in good condition and was not. It also failed to mention that the CD didn't come with the booklet or ANY artwork at all. This item was said to be in good condition but was actually not.

Just Push Play is just what Aerosmith fans needed. Of course, there are the couple of ballads, but this cd sounds like of the Aerosmith of old. It ROCKS!!!

I bought this as I am an avid Aerosmithfan/collector and my copy was just plain worn out. I loved this as it was used, but arrived in what I would call pristine condition. It arrivbed in a very timely manner and I was more than thrilled with the condition. Great sale!

Just Push Play - Aerosmith (CD 2001)
Review created: 04/06/07

This is a tremendous effort from Aerosmith. While it isn't as popular as some of their other albums,it certainly packs that Aerosmith punch that the music industry is lacking, then and now. It is a mix of rock and funk that they do so well. AAAA++++

  Familiar Sounds On Newer Album
Review created: 03/29/07
by:

Aerosmith has been through a lot as a band, and for the most part they have stayed intact throughout their career with the same lineup. Just Push Play, I think is a throwback album, not to their old albums (which I would've prefered), but to their 80's and early 90's albums.

The album starts out with Beyond Beautiful, a pretty rocking song that starts the album out nicely. Next is Just Push Play, which is an excellent song, but this song has some sampling in it (of Walk This Way), so that kind of turns me off. The sampling isn't that big of a deal, though, it's still a great song. Then comes their biggest hit of the album, Jaded. It's a nice uptempo ballad, I guess you could call it, or fast ballad, whatever. I've heard this song several times on the radio (and got sick of it when it first came out), but I bought the album a few years later. When I pop it in now, it actually sounds refreshing, like a lost friend that has come back home (if that makes any sense). I remember actually hating that song (and the radio stations for playing it every hour), but now that I haven't heard it too much recently, I have a newfound appreciation for it. The next song on the album is Fly Away From Here, which didn't do a lot for. It's something that Aerosmith has already done, a slow ballad, but it's actually kind of boring. I don't know, maybe it'll grow on me, but I personally think it's a pretty boring song. Next is Trip Hoppin' which has a melody that kind of reminds me of the Beatles, or a cross between the Beatles and maybe Extreme. I don't know what it is about the song, but it has a Beatles flavor to it, and I prefer listening to this song over most of the songs on the album. Then it's on to Sunshine, which is kind of a throwback song for Aerosmith. It sounds very familiar, it actually kind of sounds like 80's Aerosmith, like it belongs on Permanent Vacation. Kind of reminds me of Ragdoll, very cool. Next is Under My Skin, a mediocre song but it has a really cool guitar solo, but much of the song is orchestrated, and it doesn't suit Aerosmith's style very well. Luv Lies is another ballad, but it actually has a little substance to it, but it also sounds very familiar. It's a pretty good song, but it sounds almost like a ripoff of their own material, like they borrow from Crazy and Tell Me What It Takes. Outta Your Head sounds like Eat The Rich in a few ways, but not quite as good. It has some of the cool grooves to it, and some cool rapping, but it is just an alright song. Drop Dead Gorgeous didn't do anything for me. Light Inside is an uptempo tune that sounds familiar to me as well, like Simoriah from Permanent Vacation. They end the album with Avant Garden, their best ballad from the album, and Tyler's most inspired vocals.

Just Push Play isn't a great album, but it's almost a throwback album, you hear a lot of familar things from their past creep in. It's not a bad album either. It's worth having for Just Push Play and Jaded alone, but there are a few other good songs in there. Not great, but definitely good. Aerosmith reinvented themselves in the 80's and have kept the formula that brought them back to the top, and this album is a glaring example of this. It's funny, though. The best songs on the album are the ones that they did something a little different.

Like the group Areosmith. Like a couple of the songs on this cd. My winning bid was rather low, so I believe I got it at a nice price. Was in very good condition. I'm pleased with this item.

This album is for sure worth buying for the first two songs, Beyond Beautiful, and Just Push Play. Drop Dead Gorgeous and Avant Garden are worth mentioning. Personaly, I think the other songs stink.

Beyond Beautiful: Aerosmith Does it again!
Review created: 04/15/01

Pros:
Experimental, different sound yet familiar

Cons:
Experimental

I finally decided to pick up the new Aerosmith album and have to say I am impressed. Blending the familiar sound they have with new elements and concepts, Aerosmith delivers an enjoyable and exciting album that pleases old fans and keeps captivating new ones. Every song has that classic Aerosmith sound yet manages to take the group to new musical territory. "Beyond Beautiful" opens the album with a cool Indian sound and then the guitar kicks in with its driving power chords. Tyler wails the lyrics with power and the song really catches fire and the listener can't help but be taken with this...

  Don't Fly away From Here!

Pros:
Some good tracks on this album!

Cons:
This album has a bad reputation...<BR/>

Just Push Play: I am going to start by stating that: I am aware a lot of Aerosmith fans were not too pleased with this album. I am not going to down mark it because it isn't like typical Aerosmith. Aerosmith are attempting something new with Just Push Play. If they kept to their roots all the time, we would have the same songs over and over and we would all be complaining that their songs all sound the same! Don't be put off because you have heard people say this album is disappointing! I have some of Aerosmith's first albums, and although Aerosmith have tried something new -it still hasn't...

Yes Guys, You Have Jaded Me
Review created: 03/12/01
by: MattA75 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
very few, as this may be worse than Get a Grip

Cons:
awful songwriting, Tyler's voice, formulaic

In 1997, Aerosmith released Nine Lives, an album that saw the band coming close to their true rock roots for the first time since Pump, their 1989 smash. Now, in 2001, the band has returned to record shelves with a hit single (the very catchy Jaded) and a new record, entitled Just Push Play. Sadly however, much like the band's performance at halftime of the Super Bowl with N'Sync, you won't want to hit play, but rather a stop button. Some of you may find it hard to believe that I listened objectively to this album after I proclaimed that I had lost all respect for them after that Super Bowl...

Lock up your daughters and grandmothers...Aerosmith is loose!!!!!
Review created: 03/24/01
by: wolfman309 -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
A diversity in styles that captures the old and the new Aerosmith

Cons:
May not appeal to all fans

The newest release from the bad boys from Boston, has them spreading their wings once again. Never a band to sit still, Tyler and company have once again delivered a quality album that shows why this band still matters! Showing both the raw power of the old group and the sophistication of their later releases, this disc has something for everyone. From raw rock and roll to the ballads that have become a main stay for these guys, Just Push Play delivers. Opening with a dial tone and the indie sound that infused their last release, the first song "Beyond Beautiful" takes off into a rocker that..
