Jurassic Park (VHS, 1997)

This is one of Steven Spielberg's best movies ever. Definitely one of my favorites.

Millionaire John Hammond has designated an island for an amusement park featuring DNA-cloned real dinosaurs. He asks two paleontologists (dinosaur experts) to come visit the park, and to act as consultants for the park. He also invites a mathematician and his two grandchildren to visit it as well. They begin by starting the tour of the park, and of course everything starts going wrong. 3 things happen: an impending hurricane, an engineer who is stealing information for money (and shuts down the entire electrical system), and the dinosaurs start terrorizing the park.

The special effects are amazing, and the dinosaurs are very lifelike and real looking. I was amazed at how real they got the T-Rex to look.

This movie is based on a book by Michael Crichton. It stars: Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern.

My kids wanted the first Jurassic Park. I wanted something quick and inexpensive. When it arrived quickly, it was in very good shape, as if it had never been used. The description was excellent.

SUPER visual effects, a fascinating sci-fi plot, drama, and lots of action!! There are NO boring parts in THIS movie. Simply incredible. Rated PG-13, so not for young children who may be scared. But otherwise older children will LOVE this action packed adventure. Basically what it is about is a scientist creates a giant theme park on an island. The main attraction are the real dinosaurs, who were cloned from DNA. Huge electric fences keep the dinosaurs in the park. However, the dinosaurs end up replicating out of control and create chaos. Workers are sent to repair some damage, but they are quickly overtaken and more help is needed. All this while a small handful of people are taking the first tour of the park, including two young children, who find themselves inside of the park on foot (after their vehicle breaks down) and escaping danger at every turn. Full of exciting scenes and drama, a real fun watch.
