Product Information
Capresso's C1000 fully automatic coffee and espresso machine grinds, tamps, brews and cleans in less than 50 seconds with the simple push of a button. The unit has a two-step preinfusion cycle that moistens and conditions the ground coffee for maximum flavor extraction with perfect cream topping. An integrated professional conical burr grinder with six fineness settings grinds beans from fine to coarse, for all beans from light to dark. The coffee spout's height easily adjusts to let you brew into small espresso cups or standard size mugs without splashing. Makes from 1 oz to 16 oz of coffee. The 64 oz removable water container is good for 40 espressos or 12 cups of coffee at a time. The 10 oz bean container grinds up to 40 portions before needing to be refilled. Includes a separate funnel for pre-ground coffee. The unit has an 18-bar power pump with 1350 watt ThermoCoil heating system to provide fast, continuous action with only 30 seconds of initital heat-up time.

    It's pricey at $900, but worth every cup when the machine works. Now going on five years, my machine has been in for service three times, once for a product recall to avoid a fire hazard, and twice for cleaning at my expense of $125 each. Manually cleaning the internal screen after every few cycles is no big deal. The Users Manual documentation is a bit overengineered. The grinder is a bit noisy, yet produces the perfect cup of coffee or espresso every time. After using this for a week, I’ve never enjoyed coffee from anyone else including formal restaurants. And although this unit has experienced problems, it continues to be the most awesome coffee machine ever !!!

    update: 2/5/2009 - It's now 9 years old and still going strong.

    I have a C-3000 and C-1000.
    Both are excellent with trade offs.
    My buddy has a similar one (different brand) and i would NOT trade!

    These are ULTRA durable (i have owned my C-3000 for several years now)
    I have ONE cup a day religiously.

    After buying a vacation place in Arizona and going thru 3 different coffee makers trying to save some $. I finally thru in the towel and got a C-1000.

    There is just no comparison, it makes the best cup of coffee i have ever had, every time, quickly and easily.

    The C-1000 actually makes stronger coffee than the C-3000.
    FYI the person that said it does not make strong enough espresso is right, but its NOT really an espresso maker!
    That being said, there is NOTHING that can make a stronger, richer, yet completely non-bitter cup of coffee better than a Capresso.
