Julie and Julia by Julie Powell (2009, Paperback)

I got it for my girlfriend because she loves to cook. She loves the book, has been quite captivated by it.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It is very candid and entertaining. Julie tells it like it is, whether it is her cooking experiences, her personal life experiences, and even her friends personal life experiences, which makes for very interesting reading. I have recommended it to all my friends and family as a book you will not want to put down till you have read it all.

Loved this book, and the author. There was a lot of unnecessary sWearing (and some necessary swearing, too). I don't think I could have done this without driving me and / or my husband crazy. He's a saint

Simply said, what a great book. It seems to have been written from the heart. I grew up watching Julia Child and so enjoyed her kitchen "antics". But never once guessed that she wasn't born in France much less just assumed that she had probably grown up cooking. In this book you learn the truth about the "real" Julia Child and her life as well as the story of Julie and her husband. As I said earlier, it appears to have been written from the heart. If you are a fan of Julia Child's it is definitely worth the read ... and worth giving as a gift ... along with a bottle of wine. I've already bought several and plan to do just that as Christmas gifts. Enjoy!

I loved the book and also saw the movie. I the book gives more detail and it was a very fun read. The book/movie just sounded like something I would like, since I followed Julia Childs for years and she was always so entertaining. The book arrived in like new condition. Very pleased and thank you. I would recommend this book to anyone that would enjoy this topic and even if you didn't like French cooking, the theme from both Julie and Julia is well worth reading.

I decided to buy this after seeing movie reviews. I love Julia Child and this was an excellent tribute to her and her life. Well written book and a keeper!!!
