Joyride by Roxette (CD, Apr-1991, EMI Records USA)

i would have liked to have received the cd in it's original plastic, but other than that, the cd was in excellent condition and sounds great.

I used to have the cassette tape of this CD when I was just a little girl. It was my moms and she gave it to me when she decided she didnt want it anymore. I used to make up dances in my room to the songs and I knew every word by heart. One day I thought just for kicks and giggles to look up this CD on Ebay. I couldnt believe it was on here and I immedietly started bidding on one. I was such a happy camper getting this in the mail and I have not taken it out of my truck CD player yet!!! I always start reminiscing back to those care free days in my room as a child, dancing and singing to all these songs. Its amazing how happy a single CD can make you feel :0)

If you want to hear how a Swedish band sounds when it´s at its top, this CD is a must-have. I bought it on LP and later on CD and now I bought the American CD-release on ebay because it´s a little different. It´s a pitty that all you American supporters missed "I remember you", but I guess you heard it anyway :-)

The beauty of Roxette is that the duo of Per Gessle and Marie Fredriksson can do practically anything in terms of Top 40 music. From the quiet desperation of "Spending My Time" to the chanting carnival of "Joyride" to the folky "Church of Your Heart," they bring a worldliness to their lyrics and melodies that most pop A-listers don't even have the imagination to dream of. "The Big L," "Soul Deep," and "Hotblooded" all follow in the successful vein Gessle and Fredriksson mined with "The Look," while "Fading Like a Flower (Every Time You Leave)," an insistent rock ballad, and the accordion-driven "Perfect Day" take things down a notch. The low-key "Watercolours in the Rain" and the whining "(Do You Get) Excited?" are the only cuts that keep the album from being a total success. I have this musical album before on the tape, so I decided to
buy Joyride on eBay.

Fantastic music, they don't make it like this anymore. I love the moving ballads. This group has always been a favorite. Classic 80s.
