Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan (1994, Paperback)

MY SON IS IN ADVANCED EMGLISH IN HIGH SCHOOL. AS A PART OF HIS CLASS HE WAS REQUIRED TO READ 3 BOOKS DURING THE SUMMER, ONE OF WHICH WAS THE JOY LUCK CLUB. I PURCHASED THIS BOOK, USED ON EBAY INORDER TO SAVE MONEY AND IN FACT DID.

I AM PLEASED THAT I SAVED MONEY AND HE GOT THE HIGHEST GRADE IN HIS CLASS WHEN HE TOOK THE TEST OVER THIS BOOK, SO WHAT'S NOT TO BE HAPPY ABOUT! I HAVEN'T READ IT BECAUSE I ALREADY SAW THE MOVIE.

I bought The Joy LUck Club by Amy Tan book about a week ago and I love the story line. I decided to buy it for school project and realized that I could really relate a lot to the characters since I am too Chinese American. I thought the book was a great read and would definitely recomment it to anyone interested in Asian Studies or just anyone looking for a great read.

I love this story and have seen the movie and thought it would be nice to read it.
I enjoy Amy Tan's writings.

I bought this book for a college course. I was very pleased by the speed of delivery, and the quality of the book.

This book was a ways off from terrible. There was nothing interesting about it. It was very lackluster and nothing caught my attention. I had no choice as an assignment but to buy this book. But if it were just me reading something, i would never buy it nor recomend it. Do not buy this book unless forced to do so.

I liked that I the book was in good condtion and very reasonably priced.I decided to buy the book because it was reasonably priced.

I decided to get this book because I was teaching a summer reading course in college and an essay by Amy Tan was one that we read...I believe it was a small part of this book, but the essay and the book were very much alike. This is a wonderful book that is easy to read and understand. It explores the highs and lows of relationships between mothers and daughters. I love the background information about the lives of the mothers in China, giving insight to why they are the way they are with their own daughters, who are now being raised in America. Chinese culture mixed with American. I love Amy Tan, I think she is an awesome writer and really provides the reader with a loving tale that you cannot stop thinking about.

the book itself is a good one but the seller did not tell me it was an very old, read and a bit warned book.

I had to buy it for class. It is well worn but no pages are missing. It will suit my purpose just fine.

I liked the history involved and how Amy Tan explained each of the characters challenges. Amy Tan did a wonderful job of expressing the love between mother and daughter.
