Journey to the Center of the Earth (Blu-ray Disc, 2008)

Over the past 30 years, I've seen on film, many attempts to capture the nuance of this story. Even though this version leaves many things unanswered, the cleanness, originality, and plot flow, all makes up to its critics.

Bringing the past, present, and future all together made a good deal of sense. The writers of this movie made great strides trying to respect the author, Jules Verne and his contributions to man-kind through numerous inventions and discoveries.

More ingenious to the story, was the living man-eating plants, the huge piranha
fish in the underworld sea, and the levitating rocks. The tension was not to much but yet just enough to allow you to care for the characters. Frasier was excellent in this movie. A must see and one to own.

I'll give this a 5/5 for coolness and action.

You know the movie is going to be bad when the antagonist, protagonist and all variables in the story are defined within the first 3 minutes of the movie (literally). The journey begins and they are knee deep in Brendan Frasier's trademark cheese in children's movies. It's not a complete disaster however, Journey to the Center of the Earth delivers one of the most original and incredible scenery sets for over an hour with spectacular graphics and vivid color. So, glancing at the movie while your children or younger friends watch won't be completely painful.

its well done movie. i like how they make this movie. i like the every part of this movie. very good!

Almost liked it as much as the original. Lots of action, good movie. One tip, though, Any digitally mastered DVD movie will show in high definition on a blu ray player, don't waste your money buying on blu ray if they're available otherwise. They look the same on your tv if you use the digital blu ray hook up.

THE 3D ASPECT WAS SO GREAT. HARD TO GET USED TO BUT TOTALLY WORTH IT. RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO LOVES ADVENTUROUS MOVIES WITH A BIT OF COMEDY.

I DID LIKE BEING ABLE TO WATCH THIS FILM IN 3-D. ONLY IT WAS A LITTLE TOO FAMILIAR AND TENDED TO BE BORING. BRANDEN DID HIS ONE-NOTE JOB. I DON'T ENVISION MYSELF WATCHING THIS FILM FOR A SECOND TIME. THE SECOND SIDE (NON 3-D) IS MAINLY OUT OF FOCUS. POSSIBLY A RUSH TO GET IT TO MARKET.

I live in a small town. Is why I shop so much on eBay. Even the wal-mart here is still a home store.
I didn't even know this title was available on blu-ray much less in 3-D. Item was perfectly discribed by seller and I recieved within 4 days of paying for. (that's fast for this area.) Have watched it 4 times so far and am still facinated by it's 3-D effects.

LA película está en perfectas condiciones. Yo creía que era la 3-D. Pero está bien buena. Faltó detallar que no era la 3-D, sinó la película sencilla.

This is a movie for the whole family to watch without having to worry about language - how refreshing! It is also a movie you can and will want to watch again.

Journey to the Center of the Earth is a very good movie for the whole family. The kids and adults really enjoy it. A lot of action and adventure. Brendan Fraser did a great job with the lead role in this film!

A must own! It will keep your attention from beginning to end.

the 3d effect is pretty good, really a good movie, i recomment re every one.

I like the realistic pictures on my regza lcd and the 3D really adds up. I have watch this movie before but on 3D it is nice. I decide to buy it cause of the 3D. I like to see the different from the big screen. Not much but more clarity on graphics but if I had a bigger screen likes 65 or more it will be lot better.

I enjoy that you can actually watch this movie in 3d. The movie itself is alright. Brendan Frasier plays his usually likable role. Definatly cool to add to your blu ray collection

Very entertaining .. had humor, action and love interest all in one.

I HAVE TWO CHILDREN I THOUGHT WOULD LIKE THIS MOVIE. I WAS RIGHT. THEY LIKED THE IDEA OF BEING ABLE TO SEE IT IN 3-D. THE 3-D EFFECTS ARE PRETTY DECENT FOR BEING ON A HOME TELEVISION. I HAVE A 32" FLAT SCREEN. THE MOVIE PLOT ITSELF IS GOOD FOR THE CHILDREN BUT, A LITTLE EHH FOR ADULTS. IT IS HOWEVER A GOOD TIME TO SPEND WITH THE FAMILY.

I loved the 3D effects that they adapted on the Blu-Ray so kudos to the artists on all the hard work but the story line was very weak and it seemed rushed not much of n adventure if you ask me all in al its a good movie to watch with your kids but not 1 to talk around the water cooler.

Decent story, 3D effects are ok. Its good for the kids, they liked it. I call dibbs on the Mountain Guide!

Great blu-ray disc in great quality i would definitely buy from again. very pleased with the fast shipping.

It was not available in local store, ebay was the cheapest and fastest.
Now a days if one can wait a few days than ebay is the best shopping super market bar none.If i could get my medecine and the grocery than i would not go to any shop.
i am thinking of constructing a house ,buying everything from ebay .including the land.come to think of it everything is available in ebay including sod plants
and fish for the pond.

This movie was pretty sweet in 3-D. I'm not sure it would be as interesting in normal D, but the 3-D and action sequences made it worth the price.

I recently purchased this on Blu-Ray and let me tell, it is just short of Awesome! The Red and green glasses make you feel like your IN the movie, not just watching it. One scene, they throw something towards the screen (which they do alot in this flick) it makes you jump back. I thought the glasses would screw up the colors in the movie, but actually it didnt. The last time I watched a 3D movie, it was in black and white, and let me tellyou, this was a major upgrade. Do yourself a favor, and pick this movie up soon.
