This book is the first chapter book my seven-year-old daughter has read. She loves the characters and the chapters are just long enough (8-11 pages) to challenge her without overwhelming her. Many of the incidents in the book have found their way into daily discussions comparing our lives to Josefina's.

) THIS SERIES AND EVERY OTHER AMERICAN GIRL SERIES ARE WONDERFUL, THEY ALWAYS TEACH HOW OTHERS LIVED AND HAVE WONDERFUL STORY LINE! MY DAUGHTER LOVED EACH SERIES SHE READ AND I LOVED THEM JUST AS MUCH, WE READ THEM TOGETHER AND COULD NOT PUT THEM DOWN.
