Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie (DVD, 2003, Two-Disc Set)

I bought this movie to replace a damaged copy we owned.My kids love it so much that they asked for a new one,when the other became unplayable.The unique way the Veggie Tales series integrate humor,endearing characters,and lessons has been why we love them so much.They teach children the real meaning behind important virtues,and they do it without being stuffy,or condemning.Kids get real valuable lessons ,and truly enjoyable entertainment that we as parents can feel good about letting the kids watch, (in our case over and over and over...lol)The series has always been a hit, and the movie is a blessing because of it's longer playing time. Usually the kids don't want an episode to end.It's nice to see such funny characters that are so without being insulting ,vulgar,or obnoxious,which seems to be the theme Du jour as of late in our society.We are fans of this wonderful series, and this movie is a staple in our home movie collection. I recommend it to any family looking for high quality entertainment for their family.

Jonah is a wonderful movie, full of adventure and great songs. As always Big Idea has done it again. It starts off with the characters going to take Laura the Carrot to a concert and she ends up loosing her ticket. They end up experiencing a family of porcupines, a clothes line, underwear and a steep hill-that is just the beginning of the movie. If you are a Veggie Tales fan you will find this movie fast paced and very imaginative. Although like all Veggie Tales movies they are pretty different than the actual Bible stories but they get the message across in a way all ages can understand. This movie was also in the movie theaters so it is a full length film. It has no violence, profanity, questionable situations so it is for the whole family. I highly recommend this movie as well as all the Veggie Tales movies for the whole family.

I bought it because I really like how Veggie Tales teaches morals, and there isn't questonable material like there sometimes is even on Disney movies. It's a cute movie with a good story line, never gets slow.

Our children love this movie. The characters are funny and memorable. This movie's message of mercy and compassion is easy to grasp. Our 5, 4 & 2 year old have come away with a clear understanding of the meaning of both. Not only that but it's funny too!! Right up there with Disney flicks. One of our favorites.

Jonah is filled with wonderful characters, a great message, and wonderful songs! I bought it for my almost 3 year old and love it as much as he does!
"When he wins at the ping-pong, we get the ho-hos and the ding-dongs! Ding-dongs!" My favorite line...hehe

We're Veggie Tales fans. And Jonah didn't disappoint. Each video gives a moral to the story. One may teach children the importance of having courage, another the importance of honesty, etc. Jonah's message was about giving second chances. It gives a fun version of the story of Jonah and the whale. But, as with all Veggie Tale videos, it did it with its fun songs and typical silliness. My daughter, who is 3, loved it. The messages are clear, but are in such a fun format that the kids really enjoy them. The music was good, and the DVD has fun extras.

Very entertaining for Grandchildren, and the adults as well. The computer animation is superb and fasinating to watch. The tale of Jonah only slightly varies from the original Bible story, but in a silly way that children remember the message.

The grand children love the basic story.To watch there faces light up everytime they watch it is priceless. We hope to add more to our collection.

This movie tells a great story with a great message. Based on a bible story but you don't have to be a "BIBLE THUMPER" to enjoy it with the kids. Non stop laughs for everyone.

I decided to buy because our daughter has turned one and is enjoying music and cartoons more and we want her to have good wholesome things to watch. We love the movies very much Thank you:)

I saw this movie online, and right away decided to buy it. I'd heard of the Veggie Tales but had never bought any of their dvds. I'm so glad I found out about them. The boys are now old enough to understand the concepts of the story line. It's absolutely delightful.. I loved the looks of the film quite a treat to the eye. The music is fun for the kids, keeps the attention of a 3 and 4 year old boys. The message, and the entertainment value is hugh for such a small investment. It has an appeal that even adults can truly enjoy and hear over and over. Very impressed and have now bought many more of the Veggie Tales. I would definitely recommend this movie Jonah: A Veggie Tales Movie. This movie will also be great to pass on to others when the kids out grow or as a gift to any other children in your life.

The humor and silliness made the movie interesting and fun to watch. Loved the values and ideas portrayed.

The DVD was delivered promptly. Quality was perfect even though it was previously viewed one. There was also bonus DVD included that my nephew just loved to watch everyday.

Great for Kids and Adults alike. VeggieTales videos are a wonderful way to learn important values. These videos have catchy songs that have both you and kids singing.

I know this review is in the minority, but personally I totally avoid Veggie Tales for my kids. I don't mind a bunch of nonsense so much with non-biblical topics, but I find it hard to believe that Jesus would sanction this foolishness. I tend to think that right after he drove the moneychangers out of the temple, he would have turned on Veggie Tales. The product of a big company's hype and media blitz, the whole thing makes God's words into a big joke. Silly vegetables who act like fools - is this really the impression we want to give children? Veggie Tales is irreverent, even blasphemous, foolishness. Christians are instructed to raise wise, sober children with a deep fear, awe, and respect for God. Parents, do you really think more pandering to childish silliness will produce this? Let the kids watch Bugs Bunny for a good laugh - Veggie Tales belongs in the trash.

My grandson who is 4 yrs old really loved this movie as did I. The theme is
Gods forgiveness and how his people need to forgive others as he does. The
animation is wonderful, the theme is clear and easy for even a four year old to grasp.The characters are truely funny. The movie is so well done it is
even enjoyable for adults due to the crisp and insightful dialog. I recommend
this to any one who is looking for a family night movie for all ages.

We have this movie on VHS and have watched it so much that the DVD was necessary. It has great values and the mission to teach compassion is very well spoken and valuable. With kidlike humor that more adults can enjoy along with all of your favorite Veggie Tales characters what's not to love about this Veggie Tales classic.

It a great movie for children. I getting all veggie tales collection for my two daughters and they enjoy them so much and those movies are funny but the important thing about them is that have a very possitive message for them. I really recomend them.
