Joint Concert in Tel Aviv (DVD, 2003)

This is an excellent rendering of a concert conducted in 1990. It was the first time since before the war that the Israel Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic orchestras had a joint concert. It features a fabulous 14 year old performing Saint Saens's Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for Violin and Orchestra. It is superbly done. Except for a moment when the camera took to distant view at a very difficult few measures, the filming was excellent. Viviane Hagner was the young violinest. She was very impressive. I highly recommend this recording for anyone who enjoys classical music and the music of the violin.
