Johnny Carson: The Ultimate Collection (DVD, 2003, 3-Disc Set)

This DVD collection has some good footage, but don't be fooled by the selling phrase "over 7 hours of footage". The footage that shows the funniest highlights from past shows only comes to about 2 1/2 hours. On top of this footage they included the last two shows in their entirety, and a documentary on Johnny's life. Don't get me wrong, some of the footage is priceless; my wife and I laughed till our stomachs hurt.

It's not a bad DVD, it is just that I expected more highlight footage. Highlights are broken down by decade: 60s-70s, 70s-80s, 80s-90s. I hoped each of those segments would be 2 hours each, but instead they were only 45 minutes each.

This DVD has segments that are a must see, but don't pay $50-$60 for this DVD set. I'm glad I got it, but even happier I spent only $20, because that is all it's worth...

This Collection contains thirty years of most watched and famous shows from Johnny Carson's Tonight Show. From the beginning in 1962 until 1992. A great item for your collection.

The only problem with this DVD set is it's too short. I wanted more! I watched it over a three night period, brought back such great memories! How I miss Mr. Carson. He truly was the King of Late Night. I've seen all these bits before and they still were just as enertaining .

The wit and humor of Johnny Carson has not been equaled since he left. The major difference about Johnny and his successor is that on Johnny's show, it was all about the guests. His humor was quick, witty, and clever. No one does it better. This DVD set shows some of the highlights (and there were many) of his shows through his 30 years with us. I miss Johnny Carson.

If you like Johnny , this is on of the best box sets out there, and well priced to :) Its a three disc set with cool Pics on the box and dvd holder. Each disc is pretty long whit multipul episodes and extra features. I think this is a must have for any Carson Fan.

A lot of good material on this one. Old clips from through the years, a trip to Johnny's home town, and the last two shows. It reminds me of how much fun it was to watch his show.

I searched a couple of stores for Johnny Carson DVD's for my friend's birthday, but most stores were out or you had to order them and wait weeks. I found ALL I could ever want on E-Bay and ordered a 3 DVD set. My friend was thrilled.

I love to laugh and with this DVD of Johnny Carson and all the people and animals he had on his show, you couldn't but laugh at all of them. This is a great DVD and I think everyone should have one.

Johnny is great. This is one of the best buys I've made on Ebay. Just seeing Johnny again really brings back some good memories. Try it you'll like it.

I am really enjoying the old Johnny Carson shows. The picture quality of the older shows is not as good as the newer ones but I guess that is to be expected. The product was brand new, still in the wrapper and a lot cheaper than from Amazon. I have not seen any of the other Johnny Carson DVD's to compare this one with but I consider this one a keeper.

Being able to laugh out loud at Johnny Carson again.......his type of humor has been lost and it is tragic that it has been. Bought it because i grew through my teens and young adult years with the "Tonight Show" and nothing nor anyone since can replace Johnny Carson.

Bough this for the last episodes which I never had the chance to see. Worth every penny. Thanks again

The documentary of Carson's life was interesting. The segments from the show were hilariuos and the dvd was well put together. I wished it were longer. I expected more monologues, but I enjoyed it very much anyway.

This was for a gift. Had seen it before and it was just as I expected. Arrived quickly and as described.

Who didn't love Johnny Carson....he was always so funny...and was very uplifting in the evenings after a long day....No one has been able to replace him....

Exactly what we were looking for - very well represent. Ebay did a great job of cataloging this item so it was easy to locate in the search. It was well packaged and received. It was a gift and I have not had any complaints from the recipient and I don't expect any.

I bought this DVD to give as a Christmas present for a friend of mine. He loves Johnny Carson and I knew that he would enjoy watching it. He was very happy to receive it.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He loved the Johnny Carson show and he really likes this DVD collection. We haven't watched all of it yet, but it shows excerpts of his show throughout the years. You see various guests, Johnny in his different comedic roles and even get a tour of the studio and Johnny's dressing room. I'm very glad I bought this. It's great for any fan of the show.

I gave this to my dad for his 70th birthday - Many fond memories of me staying up late during the summer months and watching Carson with him - watching the videos took me back 20 some years. Excellent product!

These tapes are wonderful. I laughed so hard that I cried. These are truly the BEST of Johnny Carson and brought back terrific memories. They include at least a little bit of everything we know and love about Johnny from his opening stand up routine to his challenging times with all the animal guests! We love sharing them with our parents who absolutely love them.

You will not find a funnier 3 dvd disc collection around! From comedy skits to bloopers involving animals, each episode is funnier than the previous one. I decided to upgrade from a vhs set to a dvd set and the quality is superb and the luxury of being able to jump from whatever skit you want, makes the dvd collection that more valuable. I highly recommend you buy this if you get the chance.

The DVD was in great shape the cover was broken but didn't have any effect in the viewing. It was sent in a timely manner with no problems

I bought it to take a look back in time. The tapes amused, reminded and revealed the true character of Mr. Carson. He was a great entertainer it was a treat to be in his presence again!!!
