John Woo Presents Stranglehold (Collector's Edition) (Playstation 3, 2007)

I loved the pure destruction of it all, anything you shoot at will react (people, buildings, objects). The over all look of the game was not bad and yet could have been better for such an advanced system. My advice to anyone on the fence about buying this title, try it out for pure fun it won't disappoint. On the other hand if it's story and grafics mix in with new and exciting game play, the I want to find something wrong with anything gamer may not like this one. With the great prices you can get on ebay, the special edition is worth picking up, I just happen to love this type of movie (bonis with special edition).
In closing I say pic one up and just enjoy gaming.

A lot of people seem to not like the game. I agree that multiplayer is a little bad, but come on, Tequilla time and Gun shooting showdown? That is totally original to me. The soundtrack is pretty good too.

What impress me the most is when you go berserk mode with a shotgun. You literally tear down mobs and the environment. Watch it go!

For all you max Payne, john woo, chow Yun fat fans, this is a must buy.


My only regret with this game is that they should have made Chow Yun Fat Speak in Cantonese! Why do they have to make him speak English!!

NEET UPGRADES, A SLOW ACTION BULLET, WHERE YOU PRESS UP, AND AIM IN SLOW MOTION, AND THE BULLET MOVES AT THAT PACE, AND YOU SEE THE BULLET AND BLOOD GUSH IN SLOW MOTION - WATCH OUT FOR SHOOTING EYES OR THE PRIVATE REGION, IF SQUEAMISH... ITS A HOOT! LOTS OF DIVING, SHOOTING SIGNS ON BUILDINGS TO FALL AND KILL OPPONENT. SHOOTING PROPANE CYLINDERS TO BLOW-UP OPPONENTS. MANY GUN TYPES AVAILABLE- SHOTGUN MOST EFFECTIVE, OTHERWISE HAVE 2 PISTOLAS THAT YOU REPEATEDLY FIRE. CAN HARDLY WAIT FOR THE GAME TO COME OUT!! 5 STARS FOR SURE - EVEN THE TRAILER MAKES YOU WANT TO RUN OUT AND BUY IT!!!

Stranglehold isn't the sort of game that's going to set the shooter genre on fire. It's a more-than-competent take on an existing formula, and it has enough unique moments and overall challenge to succeed. Sure, it gets repetitive at times, it's got a few design quirks, and the multiplayer is borderline irrelevant. But there's enough solid, exciting action here for shooter fans to sink their teeth into. It's a short ride, but an amusing one while it lasts.

For the price you can not really complain the game is fun but a little broken you have you guy sliding over tables some times even when you don't want him to. But the reason to buy this is if you are a big fan of Hard Boiled. You get one of the best movies made plus a game to toy around with so you really can't go wrong.

It is a very good game, with some really cool features. Its kinda like playing a movie, its just awesome

This game perfectly captures the action essence of John Woo's Hong Kong films and serves as a great direct sequel to Hard Boiled specifically. One of the best action games on current consoles...buy it!

The only HD version of Hard Boiled on Blu-Ray --great film -one of the best action movies of all time by John Woo .. great game too, like Max Payne using the Unreal 3 engine

its good for 10 bucks, but i would not spend more then that. The movie it brings its a plus. game is some what fun, but grafics and some gliches are a bit lame but im not complaining
