I enjoyed this pack of movies. It took me back to the days where I went to the movies and the cost was 35 cents and popcorn was 15 cents and candy was a nickel. I forgot that John Wayne was in so many movies.

For dyed-in-the-wool John Wayne fan, this set of movies is a true treat. 20 movies for about .50 apiece. The only concern I have is regarding the quality of the pictures. I've watched a few of the earlier films in the package and in places the picture are bad, blurry, and jumpy. But you have to realize that the films are over 70 years old now and the fact that they are still available at all is fantastic.

About 18 of the movies are 'B' Westerns from Lone Star Productions and are at times tacky. The oddity of only one woman ever in town, who of course John always gets, wears a little thin and the plots only change slightly and of course no music. There are 2 movies in the pack that sparkle like diamonds. Angel and the Badman and McLintock.


If you are not a true John Wayne fan, you will be disappointed.
If you're an avid fan, you'll treasure them, blurry pictures and all.

John Wayne has always been a favorite since I can't remember. Good clean acting and he always gets his girl ! ! ! In all the movies in this pack, theres not one word of swearing. We look for these things in movies today. We believe they could make any movie without swearing of any kind and done correctly it will still be a number 1 hit.If they've got what it takes to make a movie, they don't have to include the swearing or nudity.We get the movies the kids can watch with us and we don't have to be afraid they'll see or hear something they shouldn't.

I bought one copy for my husband and one copy for my best friend... both who are avid John Wayne film fans. They were both extremely happy with the videos! MUCH to my surprise, I too, who would not at all consider myself a fan of westerns, enjoyed watching the movies with my husband. There were 20 videos in the set, and only 2 were in color, so they were my favorites... but not because they were in color, but because they were longer! Some of the films were much shorter, and very, very old. It was shocking to see John Wayne as young as he was in some of these. Yet the film quality was great. How surprised I was to sit and watch these films, truly enjoying them... I would suggest giving the set as a gift to ANY western film watcher. I am sure they would enjoy them as much as we all have.

Well, what can I say about John Wayne that hasn't been said before? All these movies, the old ones, the newer ones are just marvelous examples of the Duke and his natural way of acting. Wayne portrayed a man's man in most movies, yet most women fell for him too.

I bought this special movie pack for my hubby and he just loves it. He is still working his way through all the movies and I know that this set has brought him a great deal of satisfaction.

In the past, I had purchased some other DVD's that claimed to have excellent older movies of Wayne, but I was disappointed with the quality of those. The images, the quality seems to be much better with this set.

All in all I'm quite pleased.

I bought this for my uncle who is a great John Wayne fan and he loved it, he was very happy with it, and watched it with his grandsons many times. This is a wonderful collectors piece.

Found these early (some B type) movies of the duke entertaining. You can almost watch hime mature into the actor he will become in later years... A true treasure!

This is a Christmas present for my husband. John Wayne is one of his favorite things to watch, over & over again.

The movies look alright....But all the movies are 52 to 55 minutes long which means they are not full length like the add says....For them to be this length there would had to have been cuts made to the videos....

I have most of the movies on vhs. thought I'd like them on dvd. Some were very terrible quality. the one thing I did like was the "the american west of john ford" documentary, that was excellent.

The only "newer" film in this collection was "McClintock." The rest were very very old/grainy B&Ws. I guess if this is your thing. It wasn't what I was looking for. Love John Wayne though...just love him in the CLASSIC films.

I'm not much of a western fan, but when I'm in that kick, I'm easily entertained by them. I picked up this box set for one, because it was a lot of movies for very little money($.50 each). I enjoyed most of the movies. The characters are interesting, but the plots are almost identical. The two best movies are on the last disk. One of them is in color, as the rest are black and white. If your a big western or John Wayne fan, I would highly suggest this set.

Its clear, not jumpy, lots of oldies. Saturdays were "go to the movies" days. Double and Triple features during the winter months. Just brings me back for a while. Plus, many are very funny and popcorn type movies. Plus, plus, plus... no swearing, cursing or sexual talk. What a relief!

I enjoy the movies themselves, but for some reason the packaging of the product seemed to be forgotten about. It arrived with two of the DVD's floating amongst the others, collecting debri and grime.

I bought this for a friend for his Christmas gift. He loves John Wayne but he already had it but said he'd keep it and have 2!

I am happy with this product. The movies on this movie are very good. We really enjoy watching them. Thank You.

John Wayne is a great actor. I bought these because it will be a gift for a family member who loves John Wayne

for such old movies- the quality was very good -- i would like to see the same type of movies with johnny wisemuller {tarzan}

Excellent movies, they don't make movies like this any more. The Duke is one of our best actors of all time bar none.

I bought this movie for a friend because her husband loves all the old John Wayne movies and she was thrilled with all the episodes and also it being on DVD because they had VHS's.

These are old western movies of John Wayne before he was an actual star. It's pleasant to watch this old movies. The acting was very good considering it was shot in it's infancy. It's good to see movies without all the blood and ugliness that is so much of the movies nowadays.
