JL Audio 500/1 Car Amp

The Jl Audio 500/1 car audio amplifier was an excellent buy because i think that jl audio is the best brand in audio products. Also,the price was'nt competitive. Ebay is really a great place to shop.

Talk about underated, this amp puts out much more than claimed. I am guessing it is near 1000watts. I had 2 10W6's rated at 400 rms each so 800 total and this amp was too much for them when kept below distortion levels. Only downfall about this amp is that it must hve adequite voltage to work properly. where other amps keep going. Most times, I had to keep the engine running or it would shut down after 15 minutes of play.

Two weeks ago I bought a JL Audio 500/1 amp I love the amp its the best amps that JL Audio ever made. It gives the true power. Amp can be used on any Subwoofer size.

I have been in the custom car scene for a long time now & these amps are by far the best quality & worth every penny.

The JL 500/1 alows me to hit the lowest of the lows in my subs & be crystal clear deep tone. With this 1 amp pushing 2-12inch subs you can feel the beat in your lungs/chest.

I'm also useing 1 of my JL 500/1 to push 2- Rockford Fosgate 10 shallow mount P3SD210 subs, sealed box, downward firing in my Avalanche. The amp woke those little 10 inch subs up for sure & no destortion.

I highly recommend this JL amp to anyone who is wanting the most clearest hitting amp for thier system.

This is a small but very effective and accurate powerhouse, delivering power with no loss over time even with utter abuse, I had my first 500/1 problem free for 5 years, it pushed a 500 watt subwoofer until I decided to switch to a new car and upgrade to the cooler black version 2007 model.

This JL AMP is more powerfull then some of the amps my friend have that are rated for more power. A 3600 Watt M.A. Audio amp didn't even compare. and 1400 Watt sony Xplod was also no where near the Jl's output.

This is the one I`m using right now. Very loud and clean sound. Expensive, but money well spent. Get it, you will be very happy with purchase.

This is a very high quality amplifier. I just installed two of them powering two Rockford T112D2 subs. The variable impedance tolerance is a really nice feature, though I feel that if it were to be set differently (such as 1000w rms @ 2ohms vs 500rms @ 4 ohms...) then this would be a much more useful amp. 3rd party ratings already place it around 600rms in a few tests. The distortion is low, but an MB Quart amp rated at the exact same specs is about 1/3 the price. I give it 5/5 for the quality, it of course does what it's supposed to and very well at that, but I feel like the price paid is really for the brand name. I'd say buy this if you feel the need to show off your amp all the time... but you can get equal specs and quality for less $$$ elsewhere. If you have the cash, you can't go wrong really with JL.

This item was exactly how it was listed, a few minor cosmetic flaws but the amp performs like a beast. I was only finally able to hook it up recently (the reason for my delayed review) but am VERY happy with it. Definitely reccomend this seller. Shipping was a little slow though.

I like the item i prchased being a top of the line (my opinion) amplifier. It delivers quality sound and does not give up. I bought the item because i got a good deal and lets face it JL AUDIO need i say more!!!!

I have been doing car audio installation for 10 years. Probably installed at least 50 JL Audio amplifiers. I have never had one fail and they are by far the best sounding amplifiers I have ever heard for the price, probably even at any price. They are just clean and bulletproof with the proper installation.

Lots of power from a trusted name, powers my jl w6 with ease. Great sound with no distortion and the built in cross over makes hooking this amp up a snap

Everything is great about it works well with my jl 12 w6 v2 hits hard it works very well no problems easy to use amp doesnt really get hot no complaints from me at all I am very satisfied with my amp and I will continue to purchase more jl products in the future

i like the 500/1 i have 2 of them clean bass yes yes yes if u want clean bass jl is where its at...... and they dont lie about wattage a++++++ if you think this rocks try the 1000/1 my 12 w6 pair is takin a beatin i got one more on the way ...... trying three

I wanted an amp that I knew could handle the power, no matter what I wanted to run to it in listening range. I am running two JL W6v2s in a SUV (so no backseats between the trunk and cab). They are both powered to the point where it hurts my ears and the amp is about 50% gain. My amps are under the seats and after listening to the point where my Alpine MRP-F450 channel overheats into protect mode, the 500/1 is still cool to the touch. Sounds amazing, I had the subs hooked up to my old Jensen amp before buying this. Not only was the volume and power drastically improved, but the quality of sound was as well and even more than I could expect. I recommend this amp to anyone who can afford it. I've done A/B comparisons with my friends 1200w Insignia amp and can clearly hear the difference in the under $100 bargain amp with the real thing. I was worried about getting the 500/1 instead of the 1000/1, since the subs are rated well over 350w each, but when I turn the amp up any higher in rap I get a headache. I usually don't turn it as loud as could for rock, but I know the amp could handle it. Get this amp, do it.

Seller took a little to long to send but I guess I understand that they wanted to make sure I wasn't going to cancel my payment as soon as it was sent out. The Amp Works great, and sound even better.

This is a great Amp weather running 1 sub or 2 . Would buy again with out a bought. But I dont realy care for the little alens that hold the power,ground, and speakers in place they could be better. But over all this is a very powerful and clean sounding amp.

i paired this one with a jl audio 10" w6v2 and i think that its a perfect combo. clean bass output while be able to reach high output of sound. it hits hard and my amp is not even maxxed out. i have to tone it down a little bit because the bass is a little too loud

its Jl audio again this normally runs for $600 i got it for $338 i havent recieved it yet but its in transit through ups ground

I bought the product cause they are high quality,and sound great.I decided to buy cause you wouldn't find a better deal anywhere else, and the had a great feedback. Highly recommend,would buy from again.
