Good workout, lacking enthusiasm, intermediate-advanced

First of all, I bought this DVD collection because I want to get in shape and I love Jillian on the Biggest Loser show. Likes: I like the moves-simple, easy to follow moves-no fancy footwork (I'm not that cordanated!LOL, and the had low reps, mostly only 10 reps-(for instance 10 side kicks on each side, etc)so that was managable. A lot of the moves are similar to Taebo-which I like doing. I really feel the moves could help to tone and the cardio part broke it out and kept you sweating. Dislikes: Excitement-there is not background music and no one has enthusiasm. I'm used to Taebo and he motivates you and the participants get into it-counting etc. On this DVD they mention every 5 reps, but don't motivate. I figure I'll probably just start listening to my Ipod while I exercise. I wish it contained a workout schedule to follow-which days to do which DVD, etc. As someone previously mentioned you do need a long step so that is something to consider as that is an added expense ( you will also need hand weights.) I would not recomend this to a beginner at all. If you have a difficult time getting up from the floor and back down this is something for you to work up to. In the full frontal DVD you get up and down from the floor between reps of excercises and you have to be able to do it rather quickly like 6-10 sec. For example doing crunches on the step, up to jumping jacks, down again for bicyles, up to squats, etc. It is difficult!!! All in all, I think it will get the job done and I am doing the DVD's on my own scedule. It is a good set.
