There are deeply touching stories of people holding true to their faith. Jesus Christ died for us and we should be willing to lay down our lives for him. I also loved the look of the book. It has a rough finish and looks like a cool old tattered book.

This has AMAZING stories about people who had died for Christ. Very interesting and tells you to stick it out.

I bought this book for my brother for his 17th birthday. He loves it. He likes the way that it doesn't look or read like a "girl's book". The stories are great examples of people all through time who have given up everything to follow Jesus Christ. The stories drive you to seek a relationship with the One who gave them the strength to face hungry beasts before denying their faith, to stand before angry crowds and declare the Name of Jesus, to stand up to cruel kings without fear, and to face death with unflinching courage. The are not outdated, but contain the stories of modern day saints, as well as those of years past. This is a great book for anyone wanting to be challenged!

This book is a collection of events from the past 2000 or so years. Each story is the testimony of an individual who put their faith before any threat to their physical well being. It is very humbling. As I read these accounts, I am reminded that my life is not only easy, but is filled with opportunities to share God's gift of salvaton through Jesus everyday. I bought the book because the music of Toby Mac feeds my spirit--they rock--and bring the reality of God's presence home.

I bought this book because I did a search for Richard Wurmbrand, the founder of Voice of the Martyr organization and since I have teenagers, this book is geared for them. However, upon reading it, I must insist that adults will find this just as inspiring. The book has short stories about martyrs from all points in history from the Bible to present day. Though the descriptions as to how they were tortured are gruesome, their stories should be told and remembered. They did not die in vein. I still find it unbelievable that humans can be so cruel to another, strictly for their belief in Christ.

Great for teens- but as a youth pastor I read it and loved it. It was very encouraging and thought provoking. This book gives several examples of different martyrs from present day to bible times. The stories will make you cry and really think about what kind of stand you take for Christ!

My daughter begged me for this and she loves it! Seems to have wonderful encoureagment for evangelism and living the Christian life.

Absolutley gripping book. Every Christian should read this book! Similar to Fox's book of martyrs but with updated accounts of what is actually going on in this world even today. The accounts of these Christians show us who the real heroes in this world are. These Christians should be the examples, for us and our children. Not the "Hanana Montana's that the world loves so much!

Absolutely wonderful book, It is full of short stories and reads quickly. It shows just how strong ones faith can be. I recommend this book to anyone who wishes for stronger faith

This is such a wonderful book that I have 2 copies so I can loan them out. In times like this when many in our country are so determined to sever our Christian roots and our world is showing overwhelming evidence of what is spoken about in Revelation, Daniel, Matthew 24 and 1 Thes. ch. 4 & 5, etc., it is easy to develope fear and apprehension. Stories such as those found in this book, as well as those from Corrie Ten Boom, Mother Teresa, and others, can be vital to renewing our faith and knowledge that we have a God that is faithful and is ALWAYS with us. Not to mention that for those who have no faith, this can speak of God's love to them and how He still moves and does miracles.

This is a very touching book. It sets an example of how much we should love our Lord, that we should be willing to die for him just like he died for us. That day may be coming sooner than we think. I highly recommend this book for many others to read.
We are so fortunate to live in a country where we can worship our Lord without hassle. Many countries are not allowed to do this.
I kept this book and ordered one for my son to read. This book is awesome and will touch anyone that reads it. I highly recommend it.

The book was actally bought as a gift. I love the stories and commitment to Jesus displayed in the stories. It shows they are convinved by the truth in order to be willing to stand up for it or even die becoming a martyr. It is worth standing up for the truth of Jesus rather than denying Jesus. Excellent book for Believers and Unbelievers in Jesus who are seeking to find the truth.

The book was in perfect condition and was given for a gift. We fell in love with the book when we first read it last year and wanted to share it with others at a minimum cost which we were able to do through ebay.

I bought this book because I had given my other copy away. For it is a great example of what a Christian MUST do to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ.And how people of all ages are suffering for spreading the love that God has for them through his son Jesus.

In fact, it is so good that I had to stop reading it because it was keeping me away from my school work. Great BOOK! Highly Recommended!!!

It is an excellent book of people and their display of faith. The book is full of different stories. Maybe 100. Each one is short so you can easily read only a couple of pages at a time and then set it down.
