So what that jersey boys won awards this year, the album is still a grade zee cover of the originals by the REAL four seasons...One can only wonder why people pay enormous amounts of money to go to new york city and watch a bunch of actors make -believe that they are Frankie Valli and the four seasons when the REAL frankie Valli and the four seasons continue to tour and give live shows...Just recently, here in New Jersey,The REAL band gave a terriffic concert to a sold-out audience..Front row seats to watch the REAL Frankie Valli sing each and every song on Jersey Boys ran $25.00...So if you want to take a walk down memory lane why not do it by purchasing an album by the REAL,ORIGINAL FOUR SEASONS,rather than wasting your money on this garbage?...
Seen the show, decided to buy the CD. Cheaper on ebay than at show. Good CD, follows part of the play. Has some profanity from the show dialect. You may want to listen to it before playing it in front of children.
I absolutely love this cd. After seeing the play on Broadway and always liking the Four Seasons I just had to have it. It is worth every penny as these performers are as good if not better than the original Four Seasons. These are well trained young singers whereas the Four Seasons were 4 boys from Jersey who never had any formal training. The play and the cd take you through the lives of these 4 fantastic singers and both are worth every penny.
Nothing to dislike. LOVE IT!! Saw the Play in Cincinnati, Ohio and wanted to relive it by playing the CD. Also, purchased this for the friend that saw the play with me. She LOVES it too.
I saw the show in Las Vegas a few weeks ago and loved it, so I had to find the CD. The music on the CD is just like being at the show again. This is a fantastic CD.
I bought The Jersey Boys cd about a month ago after seeing the show at the Palazzo Hotel in Las Vegas. The show was outstanding and so is the cd. I liked it so well that I recently bought an original Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons cd as well. Both were bought on Ebay and I was extremely satisified with my transactions. This will not be my last purchase.
This was a fun purchase for me, I recently saw this show in Vegas and enjoyed it very much. In hind-sight I regreted not buying the CD at the show. So finding this CD on eBay was great. Not to mention it was half the cost at the actual show..
I am very pleased with the CD and it was in excellent shape. I saw the musical and just loved it and wanted the CD but they were selling it for too much for my budget at the theatre.
I saw this musical and had to get the soundtrack. Great recording , but I think that the voices at the show I saw (Houston) were stronger and more musical than those on this recording.
listening to the CD puts you back in your seat at the show (if you were there, that is). A bit shorter than the actual show but real nice to listen to .
Great price! I like how the seller starts the listing at a low price.I believe my auction started at .99 but won it for a few dollars more. The Cd also arrived in a timely manner & I gave it to my Dad since he loved seeing the play in the theater.I would recommend this seller to everyone and Would buy from them again in the future.
My wife & I went to see "Jersey Boys" Saturday evening it was great,my wife wanted to purchase the CD of the show @ a price of $25.00 + tax.Now you know why I shop on E-bay..................Thanx
My husband and I saw the musical when we were in NY last fall and loved it. I bought the soundtrack for him as he's in his car alot driving to different towns for meetings. He's really enjoying it. He says that hearing the dialogue as well as the songs makes him feel like he's back in the audience reliving what was a memorable evening for us both.
I went to see the play and it was like being there all over again. One of the best CD's of the actual play I have ever heard. This was a 5 star play and ditto on the CD
The music takes you back years. The voices are ringers for the original, and the story told is definitely one of the the road to success with trials and tribulations.
The music is really great. I like the frankie valli and the 4 seasons. There is only one thing i didn't like in one of the parts of the talking they used the four letter word .
I purchased this "Jersey Boys" disc as a Christmas present for a friend of mine. I did not purchase it for myself as the music was not from my era which was the late 40's. However my friend really liked all the songs on this disc and said it reminded him of his high school years and the music he so enjoyed then.
I love this sound track. It stays true to the Four Seasons sound. I don't like the dialogue that is in it, but it kind of grows on you. They also do a lot of montages. I wish they would do the entire song, but its like having the entire show on one CD. I highly recommend it.
Where did you first hear these songs? Maybe you grew up with them, humming along as you pulled your Covair into the drive-in for a shake. Or if you're young, maybe you caught them when your parents blasted their favorite oldies station in your Chevy Suburban. Perhaps you heard them on the DVD's of The Deer Hunter, Dirty Dancing, Mrs. Doubtfire, The Wanderers, Conspiracy Theory, Love Actually, and countless other movies. Or it could have been The Sopranos that gave you your first exposure. And you didn't have to be born in the U.S.A. to hear these tunes. There were Spanish, French, and German versions, not to mention the Chinese variations. Even if you are very young and very hip, you must have heard "Can't Take My Eyes Off You" from the lips of Lauryn Hill, although you may have had no idea where the words and melody originally came from.
I bought this right after seeing the play at the Los Angeles Ahmanson Theater because I loved the performance. The music is so true to the original Four Seasons' sound, and I love how many songs are back to back. I play it on my kitchen CD player and it makes doing the dishes a pleasure. The only thing I didn't like about the CD is that a couple of the dialogue bridges that connect the story line included the f- word. And while I didn't mind it during the play, I do mind that it's permanently on the CD. That bothers me a lot, but I skip over those tracks and go straight to the music.
