Jeremiah Johnson (DVD, 1997)

Robert Redford plays Jeremiah Johnson, who is a loner that travels West
to see the Rockie Mountains and become a Mountain Man. As he goes through
the trials of learning the skills, he is befriended by an Indian and
later takes an Indian wife, who teaches him additional skills. He also
finds a boy whose family has been killed by Indians and takes him in like
his own son. As they build a life together-they are approached by a
Cavalry detachment to help them and Jeremiah makes a mistake by doing it
resulting in his wife & boy being killed. Johnson then seeks revenge, and
the Indians do likewise, and he is forced to battle both nature and the
Indians of the tribe to survive-and become a legend to the Indians as he
kills all that are sent against him. A classic movie-in which Redford
actually speaks very little- this is a movie will more than fill a nights
entertainment-and you will want to watch it over and over. Sydney Pollack
is the master director here and his films ( Michael Clayton, Made of Honor,
A Civil Action, The Firm, etc) more than speak for his directing abilities.
Filmed in Utah, you are ensured of a breathtaking backdrop in almost every
scene.

I bought this DVD for many reasons....first, it was the first movie my now husband took me to see. Secondly, it is a fantastic film. The scenery is spectacular, the acting supurb, and Robert Redford's performance is one of his very best. I just loved him in this and the Sting.
This is a great adventure, a great date-movie, and just plain good wholesome entertainment.

I've always liked this movie. It is based on the life of the mountain man "Liver-eatin' Johnson". It is a good outdoors movie. Anyone who likes the life style of the mountain men or anything in that line will like this movie.

My all-time favorite movie. Well acted and filmed. Encompasses courage to overcome ignorance, to find love, suffer it's loss, fighting a personal war, and in the end retaining humanity.

I buy a lot of stuff from E-bay because you can usually get it pretty fast. But some sellers list Items that they do not have....:( What is up with that. How can you sell an item that you do not have????? I under stand that this place I bought this DVD from is a store, but!!! That just is not right... Item was payed for by PayPal on Feb-17-2008.. Today is April-10-2008..!!@##$ I have been receiving E-mails saying that DVD is on Back order and will be in in 3 to 4 days.. I have received about 4 of those.. I think there 3 to 4 days are up..
I will be leaving NEGATIVE FEEDBACK once and if I receive this DVD.

This is a great movie. For the most part, it's historically accurate. I hate pictures that don't do research on period clothing, equipment, etc.

Jeremiah Johnson has a good plot and the viewer is always wondering what will happen next.

Highly recommended if you enjoy early frontier history or are a "buckskinner"!

This is a classic. Based on the true story of Jeremiah Johnson one of the great Mountain men. The movie takes you through the life and Journey of a Mountain Man; from dealing with wild animals, freezing, native americans and friendships the harshness and beauty of the life in the wilderness is scene through out the journeys of jeremiah. Worth watching by all but is a good one to own.

movie is excellent; sure wish i had it. how do i get my money back, ebay? i have filed a dispute, entered the seller's name in a fraudulent report site and filed complaints with all the proper high places. no dvd, no refund.

really wanted this DVD,paid for it and never recived it. am new to e-bay and have always been pleased with my purchases{2}it was only 9.00 but I felt let down because of this dishonesty.I do not fault e-bay,but wish this could have been prevented. My husband has always loved the movie. We had a VHS tape and I just wanted to upgrade to the DVD for him.

great movie, watched it last night. It still took awhile to get even though I paid for 2 day shipping.

Just what I wanted and is great. fast also. Jeremiah Johnson made his way into the mountains. Betting on forgetting the troubles that he found.

I love watching this movie on camping trips, it kinda gets me in that mood. I've loved this film since i was a child and it doesn't get old.

I have always enjoyed Robert Redford and am extremely pleased to be able to add this movie to my library of ALL TIME FAVORITES. It is one of the best movies about the era of Mountain Men I have ever seen.

I bought this for personal use and in my history class. Robert Redford's role is wonderful and the portrayal of this point in history is excellent.

This is an awsome movie! We wore out our vhs tape and had to get the dvd.
It is a sad tale of his life but really great movie.

I remember this movie from years ago and had been wanting to get it for some time. My son is a big fan of "Dances with Wolves" and he sat down with me and watched "Jeremiah Johnson" and enjoyed it as much as I did, so I am very glad I won it. It was a movie we both enjoyed watching together.

I liked the movie and the features it presents to its viewers. The movie was in great shape and I would recommend this movie and seller to others.

One of my all time favorites. Good story about mid 1800s mountain men. My girlfriend is fron Montana and tells me the guy's real name is Liver Eatin' Johnson. Yikes!!
