Jenn-Air 30 in. JED8430 Electric Cooktop

I was a little nervous about ordering such an expensive, big item on ebay ... but everything worked out perfect. Seller did exactly as promised - delivered cooktop in timely basis with no shipping fees. Arrived perfect condition, my husband installed it (needed to be retrofitted to existing exhaust system) and it is great. LOVE cooking on ceramic top.

We bought the JED8430 on eBay Express from Houstonwholsaleappliance. Our old cooktop was a Jenn-Air as well, and it lasted 34 years, only needing a switch repaired. It was still working great when we removed it, but it looked dated. Because of that excellent lifecycle, we definitely wanted another Jenn-Air. An added bonus was that the basic design and setup was the same as our 34 year old unit, and replacement and fitting was almost exact! The duct work for the down-draft feature fit right in without any modifications! The unit operates great, and we really like the glass cook-top. It looks great as well, and especially since it's mounted in the center island, it's visible as soon as one enters the room. People are always complimenting, and upon further inspection comment "oh it's a Jenn-Air".

The price we bought it for was about $200 less than what it sells for locally. When the unit arrived, the glass top was broken, and we were quite concerned that maybe we'd get "stuck" with it. On the contrary. I contacted the seller, who immediately shipped a replacement, which arrived in perfect condition.

We'd certainly recomend the Jenn-Air JED8430, and if we ever build a new house, there's no doubt we'd buy another Jenn-Air!

Over the years, we've seen the quality of top manufacturers like Maytag and Frigidaire, go down. At one time, Maytag was second to none, however our last Maytag washer only lasted 4 years, so we've had to change our brand loyalty. It's nice to see the quality still in Jenn-Air products! You can see the quality in the fit/finish, and when you turn on the switches, they don't have that cheap "chinese-made" feel that seems to be the new normal.
