Movie Description
Comedian Jeff Dunham teams up with loud-mouthed pals Bubba J, Peanut, Jose Jalapeno, Walter, and Sweet Daddy Joe for a live act showcasing all of his standup and ventriloquist talents.

Jeff Dunham blends the age-old craft of ventriloquism with the modern art of snark in this hilarious comedy concert. Recorded live in 2006, ARGUING WITH MYSELF features Dunham playing straight man to a team of unruly, irreverent puppets: Sweet Daddy D, a smooth-talking Pimp; Jose Jalapeño, a smooth-talking pepper on a stick; Bubba J, NASCAR’s biggest fan; and Walter, a dirty old man with a hilarious sneer. Dunham and his foam friends riff on race, politics, and relationships, proffering banter so quick-witted you forget there's only one sentient being on stage.

Ventriloquists are usually like bedtime music. It is good for putting you to sleep. Jeff Dunham has brought this type of entertainment to a new level. Some serious talent is involved with this guy. He actually has ORIGINAL material. His ability to play the characters AND the audience is quite amazing and entertaining. I originally found this on Comedy Central while going through the channel guide to DVR it. I would not have DVRd it had I known he was a ventriloquist. It is a damn good thing I did. He is amongst the most talented acts in stand up comedy I have seen recently. I found his ability to multitask with his puppets mind blowing. He delivers sarcasm, stupidity, and fast witt in a style ALL of his own. You will be hard pressed to see this type of comedian be upstaged by another of the same type. The man is just truly blessed with the gift of laughter. Profanity is very minimal. The jokes and punchlines are appropriate and timely. It is good entertainment for the whole family. I highly recommend it.

      Very Versatile Ventriloquist: Laugh-Out-Loud Funny!
    Review created: 01/25/08

Jeff Dunham proves that he has terrific comedic range in his album Arguing with Myself. Starting with a very funny stand-up routine without his ventriloquist dummies, he puts the humor pedal to the metal and never lets up. His willingness to handle original, edgy material through the use of his "friends" is especially hilarious, particularly when he stops the show while one of the audience leaves to go to the restroom.

Dunham brings a variety of stereotypes to life through characters like the old curmudgeon Walter, his black "manager" Sweet Daddy D, redneck Bubba J, Jose Jalapeno-on-a-Stick, and, of course, the insanity of Peanut. The interaction he has with the audience is stunning and extremely entertaining.

Arguing with Myself includes a bleeped track which enabled us to watch the DVD with our four-year-old daughter. The dummies and comedy material held her attention throughout. It is wonderful entertainment for the whole family, although some of the subject matter may be difficult for some. I HIGHLY recommend Jeff Dunham and this DVD.
