For such an important twentieth century interior designer, Jean-Michel Frank has been given preciously little credit due in the production of research and publications till this time. Mr. Martin-Vivier offers an in depth look into Frank, the amateur par excellence . Noting the personal and professional developments, Martin-Viver places the pieces of the puzzle into a coherent, well illustrated, and vigorously researched pattern projecting the complete life of this very talented, yet tragic figure. I find it a joy to quickly thumb through the pages, gaze at each photo alone, or digest the progression of Franks life chapter by chapter. I must thank Pierre-Emmanuel Martin-Vivier and his publisher for finally making this work available, I will spend many hours of enjoyment with this effort.
