I bought this book because I enjoyed SM 101 so much. Now, I don't think that this book was as gracefully written, but the information is just as valuable. He includes details on how to choose a rope or other restraint, how to prepare and then maintain ropes for bondage purposes, how to deal with common emergencies, including preparing an escape kit. It also touches on self bondage, and techniques for different body types... (this book is not simply a -how-to-tie-a-knot-step-by-step book, oh no). Some of the illustrations are very clear and useful, but some instructions are a little tougher to visualize, so if you are super excited about learning these techniques, have a few feet of rope handy when the book arrives just to learn the knots. Otherwise you will sit there a little frustrated and bored, wishing you could 'see' it better. And read it through once before trying anything on anybody... it's tempting to skip all those long written chapters and go straight to the diagrams and start binding your partner, but really the other information is useful and entertaining. As in the other book, the author shares personal experiences to add to his points; but in addition to his own opinions he also shares disputing views. He does not want to monopolize our views on the subject, just share his insight and experience to help us understand and play safer. Very good read. Highly recommend.
