Jaws (DVD, 2000, Anniversary Collector's Edition; Dolby 5.1 Surround)

This is the Original 'Don't go in the water movie! When an insatiable
great white shark terrorizes the townspeople of Amity Island, a
police chief who is afraid of the ocean played by Roy Scheider
(The Punisher, The Russia House, RKO 281, etc), a grizzled shark
hunter (Robert Shaw) and an oceanographer played by Richard Dreyfuss
(Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Always, The American President, etc)
seek to destroy it. The shark has other ideas and proceeds to attack
the boat they are on and tries to kill them at the same time. A cat
and mouse type chase ensues and becomes a white knuckle adaption of
the Peter Benchley novel that the movie is based on. Master director
Steven Spielberg ( Muchich, Minority Report, Saving Pvt. Ryan, Jurassic
Park, etc) works this movie in a great way-even adding an ominous musical
score each time the shark sets to eat something (mostly people). A great
thriller and classic movie that most people will enjoy and it will provide
almost everyone with a good evening of entertainment.

3 decades after it's release, still one of the best of all time. Seeing this as a kid, I had nightmares that my bed was floating in the ocean, and Jaws was out there going to get me. Just remembering the horror parts are enough to make me cringe, but seeing this movie again recently made me realize what a good story and what an excellent cast this movie brought with it. Roy Scheider will forever be remembered for the man who killed Jaws. What's amazing is the movie is scary, and you don't even see the shark for like the whole first hour of the movie, and it's still compelling. And the part where Richard Dreyfuss checks out that ship and the decomposed head pops out, I jump every time I see that. Extra deleted scenes, and the Making of Jaws are worth watching, even though no extras are needed to enjoy this classic.

I like all scary fish movies too as long as the plot is not fishy. One of the best movies that I like is called Final Countdown. It takes place in the pacific ocean, so its kinda like a fishy movie too. Another good movie is the Incredible Mr. Limpert fish movie with Don Notz but he died. Its got animation fishs and I like the movie a lot. I hope this helps. bye.

I always loved the movie Jaws and always wanted to buy it but never did. I like Jaws because it was so intense in some scenes. I mainly decided to buy the movie because it was a good price and cheaper then I could buy it at the store. It was a used product but in excellent condition. I also wanted to buy the movie for sentimental reasons.

This is a wonderful version of a wonderful film, and I bought this copy to upgrade my old VHS collection. I highly recommend this particular version for anyone who is a fan of the film... especially if you want to recapture that original movie-going experience. EXCELLENT, FIVE STARS all the way. Excellent special effects. Great acting for all actors. The screams are just hilarious. Jaws is probably the best shark movie ever made and this movie was directed by Steven Spielberg. He makes the best movies. However this movie is very long like around 2 hours and more. Great action packed filmed. Oh yes, Jaws does kill people. Remember to watch the other Jaws sequels.

The wife and I are a couple of Jaws lovers, well we also like much of the old movies. This particular version of Jaws is the 30th anniversary tape that included deleted and out-take scenes. There is a scene showing the 25' shark swimming into the pond under the bridge taken over the bridge as if in a helicopter. A beautiful scene, we still have no idea why it was cut, but is one of those things we both have seen it and eats at us. We'll find it one of these days, the scene was not in this 30th anniversary disk. That gives us about 4 copies of Jaws and still looking.

As a film school student, I can say that Jaws is a masterpiece in absolutely every quantifiable film aspect, from camera work, editing to brilliant, suspenseful story all combining to the first summer blockbuster and the most highly rated work from which to learn the craft.

The movie was very late although the seller could not help it. The movie was out of stock but i appreciated the seller letting me know and he also gave me the option to wait on the movie ar get a full refund, we decided to wait on the movie and it was shipped just as they said it would be. A movie that froze a lot of people from swimming for a long time, especially on the East Coast where most of the filming took place. A real good exciting picture that kept you on the edge of your seat. I've seen it a dozen times at least, and decided I better get my own copy before they become long gone. I really thought the actors/actresses that played in the movie really helped make the movie more realistic. Now I can watch it when ever I want. A Great addition to my collection.

"Jaws" is one of the most known shark movies ever. From the unforgettable ballad to Sherriff Broady's famous last words to the killer shark before he blows it to pieces, it gets two thumbs up from me. The thrilling suspense is excellent from when Jaws disappears into the deep to when it leaps into the boat to devour Quint. This is the best horror movie ever made!

like an old friend of the family, there's something everyone likes about the first --and the best---of the jaws movies. robert shaw's sly evilness perfectly balances the puppy-dog sweetness of the bespectacled biologist and our hero's earnest determination. we are tweaked along an escalating path towards hatred of the giant shark whose soulless eye brings a shudder. by the time they are teamed up on the ill-kept 'orca' the trio have made a strange bond. who can forget their rendition of 'show me the way to go home'? or their proud, drunken contest of scars? their comeraderie is memorable. by time the shark is vanquishedand the movie is done i am always ready to see it again!

Oh man. I have them all. Jaws is a classic. I have seen this dvd 100 times and still cant get enough of it. All the Jaws movies are buyers to add to your collection. You just cant get enough of jaws.

another all time classic. again wish full screen was more available than wide screen versions. roy scheider is one of the our great character actors of the 70s and 80s. movie never loses its sense of terror. Stands up to the test of time.

I always loved the movie Jaws because of it being of good quality. I love sharks and even though, the movie does not reflect the exact nature of these creatures it is a fascinating story. The shark and its attacks seem so life like that it can be scary at times, especially with the music. It is a good movie overall.

Jaws is 30 years old. This scary blockbuster film is a classic and one of the original horror films from 1975l It is an excellent DVD set for the fan of the scary film from Steven Spielberg.

<P> This film can be watched over and over and enjoyed by all. I loved the scene in which Brody said "We've gotta get a bigger boat" The look on his face was priceless. This was really one of the first disaster movies that were popular in the mid-70's. If you haven't seen this movie, buy it today and make sure you have lots of popcorn and someone to share this with!
