The best feature of this book are the complete code examples that can compile and run. It also has "Good Programing Practice" suggestions, "Common Program Error" tips and "Error Prevention Tips".

My professor did not use this book very much except to assign problems out of it as homework. I, personally, did not reference the text at all but I found the programming problems a little fun and a little challenging.

This text is by far the most inclusive and complete text on Java I have ever seen. I was able to use it to help me solve problems that the "assigned" textbook for my programming class could not help me with. Breaks down everything in detail and provides many, many examples. The text helped me out when I thought all hope was lost. I am glad I came across it.

I wanted to see it how it looks on paperback paper quality and I have to be honest I am dissapointed. I now understand why people purchase the original ISBN copy. The paper is so different. The quality of a hard paper original book can not be matched with international cheap editions. So while I am happy with excellent service and delivery and the book is certainly as described before to me by the seller, I still wanted to see it for myself and I have to say I won't be using this book. So I wasted my money because now I will go out there and buy the better quality book which costs much more. Maybe it is just me but I like good quality paper books and hard cover. I like to smell them also. This one I can not smell very good. :-) Thank you.

I wanted to buy "Java 7th by Deitel & Associates" because I needed some kind of java bible and this is exactly what I got. It was really cheap (about 80% cheaper than retailers) and shipping was very fast! All good.

Book is good but it is a photocopy that's why it is thicker than the original book itself. I don't like that it was a photocopy and the seller did not openly say that to all. Everything is in black and white which does not help too much. Missing all the colourful comments is not a good thing.

Very good on the description. the only question i have is why is it a bigger book than some of the same exact books????

The book is pretty straight forward, i live the fact that i cover encapsulation, inheritance early in the chapter. I dislike the fact that something the assignment on what to do are vague. I also love the fact that it explain every line in detail. I decided to buy it because it was a newer version and wanted to understand the new topics in the java 1.6 mustang. Overall, i would recommend the book to beginners in java because it's pretty simple to understand java with this book.
