Jason and the Argonauts (DVD, 1998)

I have loved this movie ever since it first appeared in theaters in 1963. I enjoy watching it over and over again whenever the movie channels bless us with a showing. Now I have the opportunity to own it and watch it whenever I please. Thanks to the Ebay sellers that make it possible to own movies that might not be availible otherwise.

I like the mythological type movies for one. I had not seen this movie in a long time. I bought it cause i liked the movie as a kid and have not been able to find it anywhere else.. If you like mythology and enjoy and special effects this a good movie for you and your family...

They just do NOT make movies like this anymore.This has been one of my all time favorite movies since I was about ten years old.It contains the Classic Story of Jason and the Argonauts with Ray Harryhausen's Magic Genius Special Effects.Awesome Entertaiment for kids of All Ages.

Nothing beats the way the older movies were made. On the one hand they had the latest technology of their day, but even though by today's standards that technology may appear somewhat corny or tacky, it's still awesome to watch. I've always enjoyed this movie. I also hope to purchase Mysterious Island too. Those two are my favorite Harry Harryhausen works.

Purchased to share a classic movie with my Grandchildren. Item was what I expected but the title was confusing

It's great to see this movie again in wide screen. With the quality of todays DVD's and wide screen TV, this is the best quality I've seen since first seeing it at the drive-in Theater when I was 9 years old. I think the colors are even better now! I have seen this film 4 or 5 times since 1964, but it never looked very good on the old TV's and the full wide screen was never reproduced. I rented it once and the quality was terrible! But now, the magic is back! This has always been one of my favorite films and brings back great memories watching it as a kid with my DAD. That alone, is enough of a reason to buy a copy.

Excellent movie with a Greek mythology theme. Great for young kids (less than 13) but also enjoyable for older kids and adults. The skeleton sword fight makes it a precursor to what we see in Lord of the Rings today...

Movie was just like the stories my grandfather use to tell us about when we were children . Now that i've seen it there is nothing bad about it.

I remember seeing this on the movies as a kid (1963) when it first came out and it's still a great movie! Good for all ages.

This movie follows (roughly) the classic story of Jason and his search for the Golden Fleece. Along the way, he battles harpies, skeletons, and a very deadly hydra. All of the creatures created through the awesome special effects of animator Ray Harryhausen, made with time-consuming stop motion.

The story is fun, the creatures are spectacular, and my only real problem with the movie is the actors/characters themselves; none of them, besides the goddess Hera, seemed particularly likeable, with Jason being somewhat of an arse at times.
However, like I said, it's a fun story, and definately worth wasting a saturday afternoon on.
