
Very tough, very long

I bought this DVD because I love Jari Love's Slim & Lean workout. This workout has not won me over like that one did. First, Extremely Ripped is too long of a workout if you do both 30 minute segments. With throwing in a few pauses to catch my breath and/or take a drink, it easily turned into a 90 minute ordeal. If you want to do only one of the segments, I would recommend going with the second one...it includes push ups and ab work. Second, I am not a fan of compound exercises. I prefer to work one muscle group at a time and give it my full attention. During most of this workout, you work upper and lower body at the same time, and I found I was sometimes sacrificing form in order to keep up. During another try at it, I did modify the workout by eliminating some of the lower body movements while working the upper body. This helped with maintaining form but still made for a very long workout. It is a very tough DVD, and I will probably use it when I know I have plenty of time to devote to a workout. Otherwise, I'll be sticking with the Slim & Lean DVD.
